Robert Gibbs: Mitt Romney Has 'Taken the Battle Straight to Sesame Street' By George Stephanopoulos | ABC OTUS News – 58 mins ago

Senior Obama campaign adviser Robert Gibbs slammed Mitt Romney's "theatrical" presidential debate performance this morning on "This Week" for what he said was the GOP presidential nominee's lack of detail, calling his performance "dishonest" and saying the only thing Romney would cut from the federal budget is "Big Bird."

"The underpinnings and foundation of that performance were fundamentally dishonest," said Gibbs, an Obama campaign senior adviser. "Look, the only thing he outlined that he would cut in the budget is Big Bird. He's taken the battle straight to Sesame Street and let Wall Street run hog wild."

I spoke to Romney campaign senior adviser Ed Gillespie after my interview with Gibbs and he accused the Obama campaign of acting like a child that just lost a checker game. He also defended Romney for citing that he would cut PBS funding during the debate.

"The Obama campaign, they remind me a little bit of a 7-year-old losing a checker game, and then instead of being frustrated at the outcome, they sweep the board off the table," Gillespie said. "Big Bird, I can tell you, as the father of three children, grown now, but any father who has gone to a toy store knows that Big Bird is a pretty commercially successful entity. "

This wouldn't be the same Robert Gibbs who was just kicked to the kerb by his latest employer? Would that mean that he's included in the current 12% unemployment rate?

Mark Levin announced he would head up an investor group to buy Sesame Street...because they are an extremely profitable corporation. Brilliant publicity stunt.

Obama's minions will use Big Bird as their main theme for the next week...and/or until Biden slays Ryan.

What a bunch of jerks.

Big Bird needs MY MONEY about as much as Bill Gates.

Actually I’m glad to see democrats get so wound up over it. They say the funding of PBS is miniscule in the grand scheme of things yet democrats are going ballistic over it.

It proves that they can’t even compromise over that tiny cut.

a good response from Romney would be, “things are so bad, even Big Bird is dependent on Government”

Obama certainly belongs on Sesame Street. Or maybe Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood.

I'd post a link but the old Eddie Murphy skits seem to have been scrubbed from YouTube.

the only thing Romney would cut from the federal budget is "Big Bird."

Gibbs, Gibbs. He said his test is that if it's not worth borrowing money from China to finance, that it should be cut. I know he can't follow through on that, but I agree with the sentiment 100%, and wish that our congress had the guts to do it.

I guess there are a few who think Sesame Street is still worth borrowing money from China for government money to continue to pay for it. Like NPR, PBS is very political and very much democrat.

If they cannot survive on their own China should not have to pay for it.

Enough with PBS. Anything of value on PBS is British TV anyway: Masterpiece Theater, Doc Martin, Primeval, New Tricks and whatever Celtic group has a musical performance. Let's not forget all the constantly repeated programs showcasing musical groups from the 50’s.

Big Bird is a multimillionaire in the 1%. He should be paying taxes and not subsidized for exporting his liberal propaganda to over 27 other countries.

“Let’s you and him fight” LOL!

What a blatant use of the oldest tactic of distraction in politics.

Someone wrote this on my facebook page in response to the 8year olds letter to Romney asking him to leave Big Bird alone.

After reading her letter I decided to write her back:
Dear Cecilia, First let me congratulate your parents for allowing an 8 year old to stay up till 10:30 to watch something she doesnt understand (but dont feel bad, most democrats didnt understand it either). Second, I truly hope that during your years of watching Sesame Street you soaked up as much knowledge as you could because according to the statistics and results of public schools..you will learn more from a bunch of walking/talking puppets than you will EVER learn from teachers. Lastly, you can TRUST President obama to protect and defend Big Bird and the rest of Sesame Street..although the last 4 Americans that did that didnt fare too well..but Im sure he will do better this time. Best of luck!!

Big Bird is a character that's hit life's big money lottery & continuous to collect welfare and live in government subsidized housing.

Big Bird must leave the nest.

0 campaign can’t have it both ways; Big Bird’s corp is worth hundreds of millions. Why should the taxpayer subsidize them? Let them pay their own way! Are they contributing to the Obama re-election committee?

Why is it that chicken joints all over the country have some guy dressed up in a chicken suit standing out front and they don't need scarce taxpayer dollars to put him there?

I dare any commie 'RAT out there to walk into any toy department anywhere in the world and then tell me with a straight face the the big chicken and his sock puppet pals need taxpayer dollars to survive. That's bull****.
