Employment Report +114 [ less than working-age pop growth in survey- yet unemployment decreased! ]

Look what we have here!

The unemployment rate decreased to 7.8 percent in September, and total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 114,000, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Employment increased in health care and in transportation and warehousing but changed little in most other major industries.

This is rather amusing; +114,000 is fewer than the working-age population growth in the household survey (206,000) and yet unemployment decreased.

Huh?

The household survey's unadjusted numbers, however, show some rather interesting figures, none of which make sense. "Not in labor force" increased by 386,000 while "employed" increased by 775,000 a net change off "unemployed and looking" of well north of a million people!

Overall we're adding jobs, but not enough to cover the additions to the workforce. And while the unemployment rate decreased a big part of it came from those who gave up, which is a false number, but heh, who's counting, right?

The numbers have clearly been cooked and will be “adjusted” next month, after the election. But this is so obviously a book-cooking exercise, that I wonder if the president benefits more from the number of people who believe these numbers or less from the larger number of people who are skeptical of the so-called improvement? I don’t think these bogus unemployment numbers will convince many undecideds to vote for O, and may convince others he really is a fraud.

As I have said on numerous other threads, there is no way for these numbers to make sense. We added 114,000 jobs in September. That was exactly what economists predicted (110-125,000). With the 205,000 required to keep pace with population, the prediction was that that number of jobs would keep us in a holding range between 8.1 and 8.2%.

Furthermore, the seasonally adjusted numbers for June, July, and August ALL obeyed that rule, even after adjustment. We added jobs in the low 100,000's to mid 100,000's in those months and stayed pretty much in the 8.1-8.2% range.

Additionally, the employer survey indicated that the job market has been softening throughout the summer, and the employer survey for Q4 looks absolutely terrible.

And last but not least, the Underemployment number held at 14.7%. Now how is it possible that unemployment fell, but NO ONE who wanted more hours or a more permanent position was able to find one? NO ONE.

This is another Benghazi Fiction, this time courtesy of the BLS.

very interesting

you can see where the dems took congress and started pushing unemployment to wrestle for power

then 0bama takes office... and their efforts cease... allowing employment levels to start to improve

But not many will hear of the “correction,” either because they’re still on their Omamaphone, or they’re watching the MSM on TV.

Adjusted?, we don’t need no stinkin’ adjusted!

The entire Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) workload (other than deciding “what” needs to be measured and the methodology to employ) needs to be contracted out and 95% of the career federal employee staff cashiered. These employees have shown themselves to be willing accomplices to the despicable Obama/Democrat corruption and not working in the interest of the American people.

Their federal paychecks need to be ended with the same speed as “Big Bird’s” subsidy.
