Big Bird may seem as apolitical as he is unable to fly, but the eight-foot-tall primrose condor (or canary, depending on who you ask) is no stranger to presidential politics. In fact, as the veteran of even more administrations than Dick Cheney, the jibe from Mitt Romney at Wednesdays debate wasnt even the first time the oversize muppet ruffled Republican feathers.
Back in 1970, the first time Big Bird visited the White House, he got a little too touchy feely for First Lady Pat Nixons tastes, longtime puppeteer Carol Spinney wrote in his 2003 memoir The Wisdom of Big Bird.

Remember when Bush was president, and networks found people who were having a hard time feeding their family because of high gas prices? Or they would look for ties between the White House and energy companies (like Halliburton)? Today they ignore Solyndra...
We dont need to be paying for PBS or the arts..Private enterprise should be doing it. Time to stop funding.

They make MONEY TAX EXEMPT via sesame street royalties and direct income.
Networks have resorted to near-porn to try to attract viewership that's left them for Cable and Satellite TV.
Their problem is: State-Run-Media has become so transparently "State Run" that people don't want to hear 24/7 Agenda-slanted programming.

Let Sesame Street start selling ads instead of political correctness.
There’s plenty of educational TV on non-government channels - Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Nickelodeon, TLC - with shows like Blue’s Clues, Bob the Builder, Dora the Explora (sic), etc.
Let’s not forget PBS also gave us Barney, Teletubbies, and Bill Nye the lefty Science Guy.
WE should be taking off and running with this as a theme—government should not be financially enmeshed with public broadcasting any more than it should be involved with sports stadiums, auto manufacturers, or the banking industry.
NO SOCIALISM!!!!!!!
FREE BIG BIRD FROM THE GOBBLEMENT!!!
FREE BIRD!!!
FREE BIRD!!!
FREE BIRD!!!
Big Bird and Sesame Street generate billions in revenue every year.

I don't know about Big Bird, but Bert has to be taken out!
