When Barack Obama and Mitt Romney face off for the first time at tonight’s presidential debate in Denver, they’ll also be taking a lie detector test.
A spokesman for the group Americans for Limited Government told The Daily Caller on Wednesday they have contracted with a company to use new truth detecting technology to determine whether either candidate is lying during the debate.
“For the first time, within a few hours of a political debate, the American people will know if the candidates are telling the truth, and better be able to judge what promises are real, and which ones are nothing more than political pandering,” Bill Wilson, president of Americans for Limited Government said.
The conservative-leaning group says they hope to release the results from Voice Analysis Technology within three hours of the debate.
“The operating assumption by the general public is that if a politician’s mouth is moving, he or she must be lying, by putting Obama and Romney to the test, we will find out if this is true,” Wilson said.
Voice Analysis Technology, according to a news release, has done work for high-profile criminal cases including for the case of Natalie Holloway, the Alabama high school student who died in Aruba.

If true, there are three likely outcomes:
1. The debate will look like the “truthful politician” skit on Johnny Carson with the endless beeps and hilarious corrections.
2. It won’t go off, because Obama thinks what he says is true.
3. We won’t hear anything, because the media won’t report the outcome or outright edit the detector’s output.
NFWAY!
Oh, and I bet it’ll beep more for Romney than Bambi.

Hope they installed a dedicated 200 amp circuit to handle the power surge when the serial liar community organizer starts to puke out his lies.
If it really is a working lie detector, it will go berserk when 0bama says “good evening.”
A sociopath (read “Obama”) can lie convincingly. No machine can tell the difference.
This is exactly what I thought. A "lie detector" only tells you whether someone is stressed. It doesn't tell you why they are stressed.
Scrupulously honest people have the most difficulty with "lie detectors", because they are stressed about simply being asked if they are being honest.
Sociopaths have no problems with "lie detectors", because they are so practiced at lying, it doesn't stress them.

IIRC, in previous presidential debates, CNN had a website feed that showed real-time (b.s.) reactions to candidates’ responses.
I also so hope the news last night was wrong and the Romney campaign has not given him a list of “zingers”...it is unpresidential and will ring so false coming from Romney. Not that he is too dignified. He is just not a funny or clever guy.
Obama does not believe he is lying.
