Creed's Scott Stapp 'Disappointed' With President Obama
Rolling Stone ^ | 10/2/2012

October 2, 2012 11:25 AM ET Scott Stapp of Creed

Scott Stapp may have voted for Barack Obama in 2008, but the Creed frontman said this morning on Fox & Friends that he's "disappointed" by the president and his administration, who Stapp said have made "a lot of promises, but no real delivery."

While Stapp did not explicitly that he would cast his vote for Republican candidate Mitt Romney, he told the Fox News morning crew that he wanted a candidate with a clear plan that Americans could understand. "My heart and soul would really want someone like Reagan or FDR to come back and give us a New Deal," Stapp said. "Be bold, be committed, don't care what anybody thinks."

Stapp added that he hoped he'd see one of the candidates come out as a strong decision maker in the upcoming presidential debates, particularly someone who can lead us out of the current economic recession (or as he called it, "the great correction").

"For me, it's hard to commit and to trust President Obama again because I was so inspired and thought everything was going to change," Stapp said. "I know he walked into a tough situation, but I feel change is in the air."

Back in April, Kiss frontman Gene Simmons stopped by Fox & Friends to say that after voting for Obama in 2008 he would be casting his vote for Romney this election cycle. "Hindsight is 20/20," he said at the time. "I have some real issues with the economy and how it's being done. America should be in business and it should be run by a businessman."

"My heart and soul would really want someone like Reagan or FDR to come back and give us a New Deal,"

Incoherent, but his heart's in the right place.

I keep hearing of people who voted O last time who are crossing over our way. I don't hear of anyone who voted against him before, crossing over to vote for him this time.

So, I'm confident.

I have a feeling a lot of undecideds feel this way. They are waiting for Romney to seal the deal. He must be very strong in the debates. The sprint starts tomorrow.

In all honesty, how can anyone be disappointed? What made them believe there was reason to believe in this guy to begin with? He had no record of accomplishment whatsoever. They should be disappointed in themselves for letting themselves be fooled and manipulated by a snake oil salesman.

He might be a cool guy, I don’t know.

But anyone who’s disappointed in Obama was either not paying attention or is stupid.

It’s not like Obama changed...he was a muddle-headed jackass from the first day he started his campaign.

I just had this conversation with my daughter who is sick over the thought of an Obama win. I told her that there are an awful lot of people out there who are hot to vote against O and there are plenty of people who regret their votes for him in 08. In my gut, I just don’t see how Obama pulls this out.

Someday you'll be disappointed by someone or something in politics, and somebody will say, "How could you possibly be disappointed? How could you possibly believe in that?" Maybe it's already happened.

NO, hasn’t happened yet and I’m pretty old. I check out candidates very carefully, and have no delusions that they will walk on water or accomplish all I’d hope for. I vote for the most conservative candidate who can get elected.

All this hope and change was a stupid reason to vote for someone in the first place. Liberals claim to be smarter than everyone else, but they tend to vote based on feelings and not on observable facts. Voting based on feelings leads to inevitable disappointment when reality supplants the world you wished for.

He might be a cool guy

For years he has been regarded as one of the biggest a**holes in music. And there are a lot of a**holes in music. Even his bandmates think he's an a**hole.

Putting Reagan & FDR together politically tells me this guy ain’t too bright.
I can’t imagine Reagan giving us a “New Deal” or FDR creating anything but socialism.

I don't either, but I do follow music. He was fairly well-known in the 90s. Lots of substance abuse problems and full of himself.

Sorry if this offends anyone, if you know an idiot personally, but idiots bought his BS hook line and sinker. Idiots who are swayed by personality and swallow media tales whole without even thinking. Many people have to feel stupid for voting the guy in, but are not defending him out of their own guilt and stubbornness.
