It’s Lifeline. Someone has figured out how to make a few bucks by putting up a web site telling people about the free government phone programs, and for the sake of marketing gave it a clever name: “the Obama phone.”

It’s the same stupid marketing ploy that you see on a zillion web sites where ads pop up that say, “President Obama is paying moms to go back to school!” and similar nonsense.

It’s not a US government web site. And it might be that Obama has expanded the program some — heck, he’s expanded just about everything else — but the Lifeline program has been around for a long, long time.

Sheesh.

That’s exactly what I said, in case you’re a product of the government schools and can’t read it.

We the taxpayers then paid for Obama’s expanded program, and somebody paid for that ad - if not the US government, then the Obama campaign. It is advertised specifically as the “Obama Phone,” and there is no commercial venture involved (other than Obama himself, of course). So he is clearly using this government program to promote himself.

Sheesh to you.
