Judge Robert Simpson has effectively decided to block part of the law. Following his ruling, voters will still be asked for a valid voter ID at the poll. But if they don’t have it, they will still be able to cast their vote in the usual manner.
The judge suspended the portion of the law that would have required voters without valid ID to cast what is called a “provisional” ballot, which would not be counted unless the voter could produce a valid photo ID within six days after the election.
Judge Simpson says he viewed the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s recent directive (see related story) as ordering that he sever the illegal portion of the law concerning the provisional ballots.
Today’s ruling comes just five weeks before the election (related story). An appeal is still possible.

I just learned that the judge will have the ballots of the unidentified voters mixed in and counted with the ballots of properly-registered and identified voters.
This destroys the integrity of the Pennsylvania election, completely.
(Ballots from people without proper ID, or with no ID, should be Provision Ballots and counted only when the bona fides of the voters are determined. This is how it is done from one end of America to the other. The state has the duty to insure the integrity of the election. Mixing ballots cast by unidentified voters in with properly-cast ballots destroys the Pennsylvania election (and possibly may elect a President based on a whole lot of fake ballots).
If the RNC or the Romney campaign doesn’t get on this ruling RIGHT AWAY, like TODAY, to get it fixed or set aside, then they may very well be conceding the election .... watch and see what they do....watch and see what they do....watch and see what they do....

What’s to stop a Democrat operative from grabbing that pile, throwing out the Republican ballots, and adding everything else into the main pile of ballots to be counted?

The PA Sec of State needs to tell this judge to get bent. The SCOTUS has already ruled that photo ID laws are constitutional. The DOJ sued us twice about it but all you have to do is show up in Court and it gets kicked out. The states need to start ignoring these Federal judges who are out of line.

These are not “Provisional”.. they can ask a voter for ID but they must give them a regular ballot even if they decline to provide ID.

I’m afraid if we are waiting for Romney to act, it will never happen. He seems as clueless as his primary voters are.

It would be no more difficult for them to do it the right way,

If you think ANY Voter ID law would have ANY effect in the toilet known as Philadelphia you are kidding yourself. The people at polling places in North and West Philadelphia will let ANYONE vote for OBAMA.
Like Gun Laws, Voter ID laws will only impact honest and law-abiding citizens.

Please, people in Pennsylvania, you are the boots on the ground, the greatest generation has passed the banner on to us to fight this war...they gave their all, and it must not be in vain. And this is your fight, Pennsylvania, to save your state and this country. If I could be with you shoulder to shoulder, I would be. But here in Illinois, I'm fighting the same war, in a state that has turned ugly with rahm emanuel, the strong sociaist/communist/marxist/revolutionary population among the politicians and ethnic groups, including the illegal aliens, and generational mopes on the dole who traded their votes for mega freebies..where crime, and it's only black-on-black/black-on-white crime, and hispanic crime, is horrific and the death tolls are higher in Chicago than in Afghanistan. Our prayers are with you, Pennsylvania, and as Mark Levin has often, go out there and kick some azz.
You know I think on election day I will stand outside my polling place with my cell phone cam and see if I see any irregularities, and if so, I shall film them.
It’s probably a waste of time here where I am in Northwest Fla, which is almost entirely conservative, but Florida is important and it may well be worth doing.
AFAIK no one uses paper ballots in PA. We used to vote on ancient lever machines and went to electronic machines a few years ago. I'm not sure if the provisional ballot would've been in paper form.
Not quite the same thing. This law only fails when the people who are supposed to enforce it are corrupt. I'm pretty sure the people you refer to at the polling places in Philly would happily accept a Shake 'N Bake coupon as a valid ID. The honest, law-abiding folks shouldn't be impacted by the law, since they should already have or be able to get valid IDs.
