LAS VEGAS Even at a resort hotel, President Obama says spending all day prepping for a debate "is a drag."
"They're making me do my homework," he said in a phone call with a political volunteer during a visit to his campaign field office in Henderson, about a 30-minute drive from his debate camp at Lake Las Vegas.
He said the debate preparation was going great, but "basically they're keeping me indoors all the time."
But they did allow him to take a break and drop by his local campaign storefront. He walked in with six pizzas as a way of saying thanks to the 20 or so volunteers there.
"I know everybody has been working really hard," he said, though he mistakenly said there were 34 days left to the campaign. His volunteers knew there were 36 days left.
"Whatever it is," he said, "it's really coming up quick." He said the race in Nevada was going to be "be close all across the country."
Can Romney redefine himself in this week's debate? Obama holds slight lead ahead of debate Obama camp plays down debate expectations Let the debates begin He also sounded like he was worried about some kind of October surprise surfacing during this month.
"There are going to be a number of other things we can't expect over the next couple of weeks," he said. He didn't elaborate, but he delivered a decidedly optimistic refrain.

I hope so. He’s likely only had a few debate prep sessions, because he does not like hard work.
Whereas, Mitt Romney has been debate prepping since at least August.
He’ out on the golf course and his wife is spending as fast as she can.
F-ing stoner
BO truly acts like he is still in High School. He’s such an arrogant punk. I guess he thinks by saying this that it makes him look cool. It makes him look immature and not serious. Hope Mitt wipes the floor with him. Jarrett must be going nuts trying to get the punk to actually sit down and focus on something for more than 15 minutes without ESPN turned on or adoring idiot crowds screaming at him.

Mitt has been running for POTUS, ever since 2004, and yet, Mitt isn’t routing Barack, so far. IMHO, pathetic, for Mitt, when his opponent is blowing it on each and every issue and when Mitt continues to refuse to, really, become a small government conservative with a very strong political backbone.
Acts like he’s ready to move into that 35 million dollar house in Hawaii-like he’s almost relieved it’s almost over-weird. Very non-chalant about the whole thing.
Or maybe he knows he will win by whatever method they have planned and is truly not worried about any of it. Hmmmmm...
Obama is trying to create the impression that he’s coming to the debate poorly prepared so that the audience thinks that he’s speaking from the heart, thus portraying his true self.
Imagine GWB saying this crap.
The bastard’s not sounding very enthusiastic about it, and it tells me something.
It tells me that he knows that all he has to do is walk out there, lie his arse off, and be defended by his minions: the enemedia.
0bama is a drag on the country. Can’t wait to get rid of this clown. (yn)
Hope he gets drunk and then rolled by a prostitute.
Jerk
Romney needs to BE THE PRESIDENT.
> Did he say Drag Queen ?
Maybe he’ll come to the debate in drag.
Sununu said it best last week on Greta - Obama is lazy and arrogant. He will be talking in generalities with the usual blame and deflections mixed in with rainbows and unicorns.
Romney is debating both Obama and the press. He needs to persuade maybe 1 in 20 to 1 in 40 democrats to either move to him or stay home. If he does that, he will for sure get 2/3 of the undecideds (at least) and be the next President of the United States. I was a Gingrich supporter in the primaries, but Romney came loaded for bear in the FL debate and clearly won. He seems very focused and quiet - I expect him to come out ready and very presidential Wednesday night.
This charlatan Obama is grossly unprepared now as he has been since the democrats discovered him. It is time to defeat him.
