The Romney campaign is experiencing what some officials believe could be the beginning of a mass exodus of big money donors diverting their cash away from the Republican presidential hopeful and toward Republican candidates for the House and Senate races more likely to win in November, the FOX Business Network has learned.
The trend isnt at the acute stage, at least not yet, said one person with direct knowledge of the matter. This person, a major player in Romneys New York fundraising circles, confirmed to FOX Business that a few New York donors have backed away from financial commitments to the Romney campaign and instead said they will spend their money to help the Republicans hold on to the House of Representatives, and pick up seats in the Senate.
But another person with direct knowledge of the matter says the trend, though nascent, is more geographically broad based, and reflects an increasing degree of anxiety both with what they believe is the tentative nature of the Romney campaign, and recent poll numbers that show President Obama with a lead, particularly in key battleground states, that some Republican contributors are starting to believe is insurmountable.
If Romney were ahead the BIG donors would have stuck with him.
“Obama will have more flexibility to issue Executive Orders. With them,he can easily finish off in his second term the nation that he’s brought to its knees in his first.”
Nope. Gridlock is best case scenario. Can’t believe republicans would give up when Romney loses - but I guess that’s par for the course. There is lots that can be done to hamstring Obama, but only if the Senate is won.
Scarce dollars should have been poured into the Senate races from day one and if - only if - there was money left over - put into the Romney campaign.
Considering your JUST JOINED FR TO trash Romney.
I could care less what you post !
MARCH 2012 !
You should only be "at a loss" if you are buying into the media narrative, which is false. They will be repudiated in November.
Don't let them get to you. They are the enemy, Fox News included. Once you realize that, then their transparent propaganda should have no negative effect on you. All it should do is motivate you even more to spread the truth to as many of the deceived masses as you can. Don't be insular! Educate and inform voters and then get those you have awakened to go out and vote, and so on.
At this point in our history, if patriotic Americans are all as angry, passionate, and motivated as we appear to be, then 0bama has NO chance in November.
GO TEA PARTY!
Everyone is hanging their hats on the debate.
The debate isn’t going to make much difference. The moderator will throw softballs to Obama, and try to antagonize Romney. Everyone will see what they want to see, and no one will change their mind.
Romney can’t go on the attack in the debate. He won’t get the opening, and if he creates one, it will backfire on him. You can’t diss Obama and get away with it.
The only way Romney wins is if he pins the economy on Obama and offers a viable alternative, with enough specifics that it looks realistic.
The corrupt ‘open primary’ system doesn’t help...
I've read the Constitution a few times and impeachment is the only way of removing a President via another branch of government. While a simple majority of the House is needed to impeach, 2/3 of the Senate (67 votes) would be needed to impeach a President. Assuming a party-line vote, we'd need to win a lot of Senate seats to get there. If we held all Republican seats and picked up every seat even remotely competitive, that would only get us to 60 seats. We'd have to start winning in places like Delaware, New Jersey, California and Rhode Island to get even close to 67 and I honestly don't know what candidates if any we have running in those states. I looked up the New York US Senate race (another possibility) and apparently our candidate is only down 43 points as of the last poll.
And when Romney loses - you’ll blame Ryan and the conservatives just like McCain did Palin.
Look, I wish I could be like you and promise rainbows and ponies but I have to be honest. Romney never had a chance. Romney’s only hope was that all the swings went to him. That wasn’t ever going to happen.
Show me a poll, where this wasn’t the case, and Romney had a significant margin vs Obama? There aren’t any because he’s never had one at any point.
This is classic Axelrod astroturf .

And they hung their hats on after the convention. Before that it was during the convention. Before that it was just before the convention. Before that it was after the VP pick...etc.
Seems like the bar keeps moving but still under 50%.
Next it will be after the second debate, then sometime in late october then the last weekend before the election the election night we'll be hearing "yes, but such and such country has not been counted yet. Just wait and see Romney will catch up."
I say FIGHT NOW - Yesterday already. But no... everything is just fine. "Obama's losing in a landslide no need to worry."
TURN. THEM. OFF.
“Considering your JUST JOINED FR TO trash Romney. I could care less what you post!”
Nope, just another one of those evil tea party folks worried sick for the Republic. Don’t care if it’s Romneycare or Obamacare - it’s the same medicine either way.
I’ll say this. Romney sure has a lot of people associated with him who run to the media to tell anonymous stories that reflect negatively on him. How come we never hear anything out of the Obama camp? What is it with Republicans who love to run out to the press and sh*t on other Republicans?
When you have no argument - argue the man not the ball. :)
Good luck ROMBOT.
For what it’s worth, I live in NY and have a lot family and friends in NJ as well and I barely know anyone that is voting for 0bama - I don’t haven’t even seen an 0bama 2012 bumper sticker.
“It will ensure Romney gets his Supreme Court nominations through the Senate.”
The Romney record for judicial appointments as governor:
Of 36 nominations for judges or magistrates, 14 were registered Democrats, 9 were registered Republicans, and 23 were unenrolled voters who either gave money to Democrat politicians or voted in the Democrat primaries. Two nominees were gay rights lawyers who supported same sex rights.
Want to guess who a Romney nominee might be to replace a retiring Justice Scalia? Do you believe Romney will appoint a strong conservative to replace Ginsberg, Breyer, or Kennedy?
Granted, if the media presented information objectively rather than openly propagandizing for the Obama campaign, Obama would probably be polling 20 points behind right now. But it doesn't help that the GOP establishment anointed a bland, limp, nervous-sounding stiff as our candidate. Instead of destroying Gingrich, they should have embraced him as the only candidate capable of standing up both to Obama and the media.
