Talk with the farmer who was arrested for shooting a home invader. Guy lives in England. His house was broken into several times. OTOH a guy turned in a rusted shotgun he found on his property. He took it to the local cop station and was immediately arrested. Rusted shotgun. So no, don’t tell me you have any rights to self defense. I read this stuff in The Sun. Would The Sun lie???

The farmer was Tony Martin. And it has been explained WHY his actions meant he was convicted. To keep it short, he shot at the scumbags at distance in the back, so his actions wasnt deemed ‘legitimate self-defence’.

I agree the conviction was ridiculous (the judge could have found him guilty and suspended the sentence), but the law is the law.

Again, I am British, you are talking to someone who knows the issue better than you. I am British, I have laways lived here, I am a gunowner, and I have been the victim of a burglary (2008) in which I used violence in self-defence.

Would The Sun lie?. That sound you hear is 60m Brits laughing. If The Sun was American, it would be the National Enquirer.

Do we have as good a right to self-defence as you?. Maybe not. Is that because our laws/rights seem/are muddled?. Probably.

But it a myth that UK people cannot defend themselves. I can personally assure you we do.

Q: Would The Sun lie?

Haha. Oh dear. Yes, it would, it very famously has many times, and it certainly will again.

Not interested in getting involved in this debate again, but that’s a very unfortunate choice of rhetorical question you’ve just used
