Make the fruit and veggies an OPTION! Stop loading thier plates and force feeeding soggy, limp veggies and “fruit” with heavy syrup! Everybody acts like they’re throwing away something useful. This is sh## food they’re serving. The veggies have been cooked for so long there is no vitamin that could survive and sugar is BAD FOR YOU and that’s all the fruit is.
Breakfast...let them grab a bowl of cereal at home...and a banana...
I read an article about a school lunchroom that had a wonderful salad bar, including cheese and probably croutons - it was decimated by decree of Michelle Obama and turned into a tasteless wasteland of vegies, and the kids no longer flock to it as they had in the past when it contained food they actually liked.
While Michelle Obama has no qualms about taking 1.4 BILLION of our money so her family can live in luxury, she evidently thinks our children are no better than animals, to be attracted by colorful, shiny objects.
What a revolting, repulsive human being. Shame on those people who voted Obama and his family into our WH, and shame on those who would do it again.
Well, if they allowed some SALT or BUTTER on the cooked veggies, I’ll bet the kids would eat it.
I won’t eat cooked veggies without those things on it. It tastes like crap.
And what about a healthy dip for the raw veggies? There are many more options than just ranch dressing.
Gnawing on a piece of celery can seriously suck. Add some peanut butter and it’s a pleasant experience.
I was a picky eater as a child and I remember, I really did try. Veggies and milk just didn’t taste right to me. I’d choke it down, but it was hard.
My daughter is a hummus, veggie and milk eater and always has been. My son struggles. Now that he’s grown, he has all sorts of tricks to get raw and cooked veggies into his body.
But serving kids a low-salt (or NO salt), low-fat diet just isn’t the answer.
Now the fruit does mystify me. Kids usually like fruit.
I’d just make ‘em eat the fruit first. Then the rest of the meal.
