About 9-10 years ago Ole Chuckie was touring the Eick dairy farm in Medina NY. He was trying to drum up support for the Upstate milk co-operative. About half way through the tour of the farm he asked Mr. Eick how many time a week the cows needed to be milked. Mr. Eick stopped looked at him and said "Mr. Schumer I have never voted for a Republican in my life, but after hearing this stupid question I promise I will be voting for your opponent in the primary and in the general election no matter who it is, and the same is true of every member of my family. Now get off my farm." He turned and walked away just shaking his head.

For those of you not in the know about dairy cows, they need to be milked at least once and sometimes twice a day.

Near Fredericksburg , Texas , where there is a large German speaking population, a farmer was walking down a country road that borders his property. He notices Schumer drinking from his pond with his hand.

The farmer shouted: “Trink das wasser nicht. Die kuhen haben dahin gesheissen.” (Which means: “Don’t drink the water, the cows have pooped in it.”)

The man shouted back: “I’m from New York and just down here for a few days campaigning for Obama’s health care plan... I can’t understand you. Please speak in English.”

The farmer replied: “Use two hands... you’ll get more water.

Been in dairy agriculture for 30 years now, and I don't know of any farmer who milks his cows once a day; never even heard of one.

In order to survive economically and insure the best health for your cows you must milk two or three times per day. Robotic milking operations allow cows to be milked "continuously," will some higher yield cows milking four or five times per day.
