As America’s strategic and political position in the Middle East continues to deteriorate, President Barack Obama’s political opponents have stepped up their claims that he is an ineffective leader on foreign policy.

But New York Times columnist David Brooks isn’t convinced those attacks will work. During his weekly appearance on PBS’s “NewsHour” on Friday, Brooks suggested Obama deserves a pass for remaining calm throughout the crisis, which he said puts a kind of burden on his challenger, Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

I wonder what Mr. Brooks would consider to be the difference between “calm” and apathetically lethargic and treasonous inaction.

No, Reagan still holds that title....

Perhaps ? a political cartoonist can draw a cartoon of Reagan being Teflon, and Obama being protected from his scandals and mistakes by a screen of Teflon by the media.

“Besides, Obama was calm because his pals in the Muslim Brotherhood were gaining power.”

Yep; in a nut shell. - He’s a COLD jive turkey; that one.

How do so called journalists like this hold a job? Is this indicative of the loss common sense in all of that whole profession?

The crease impressed Brooks. So why should we listen to her?

Its truly bizarre this year, I’ve never seen it this in-your-face before. The ‘journalists’ are not even pretending to hide their bias. Are they self-deluded into thinking their presenting some unassailable truth?

I think we may actually be seeing a small application of what Paul told us is coming,

“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12

[David] Brooks suggested Obama deserves a pass for remaining calm throughout the crisis …

It sounded so much better in the original German: "die Ruhe des Grabes."

He isn't Teflon, he's Flubber.

Things slide off Teflon. With Obama, things accelerate away from him at an ever increasing speed.

I guess Brooks is still enchanted by the crease in Obama’s pants.

“i wonder what does light a fire under this guy besides golf and a saul alinksy manual,”

I am almost afraid to find out what would light a fire under him, I quite certain if he acted on them with the same brand of attentiveness that he used to pick his “March madness” brackets, the results for this country would be catastrophic.
