WAYNE, Pa. Mitt Romney declared Pennsylvania a battleground during a mid-morning rally here Friday, despite public polls showing him well behind in the race for the states prized 20 electoral votes.
Ive got a little secret here and that is that the Obama campaign thinks that Pennsylvania is in their pocket. They dont need to worry about it, Romney said during a visit to a military academy in the Philadelphia suburbs.
And youre right and theyre wrong. Were going to win Pennsylvania and were going to take the White House.

Unemployment is high in Pennsylvania. The state is becoming a retirement state. I hope they wake up in my old home.
PA isn’t the only Dem stronghold that is competitive.
Told ya so.
I live here and the only places you ever hear anyone sing Obama’s praises are:
-Black neighborhoods in inner city Pittsburgh and Philly
-College campuses
-In Union Halls (and even there only among the kool aid drinkers)
Democrats have a 3 or 4 to 1 registration advantage around here and you hardly ever see an Obama yard sign or bumper sticker. He has really, REALLY alienated the white working class.
I live in a pretty liberal part of the Philly burbs. Area was festooned with Obama signs in 2008 - including some in Hebrew. Hardly see any now.
i think they have a bigger problem..I have been reading many fb post that claim the teaparty movement will be better if Romney loses. thats no help and it could be dems posting but looks like its gaining traction....welcome to mor obama..i dont agree at all
One word: Coal! All of western PA and eastern OH is coal country.
And I’m sure Romney’s ad using Obama’s own words on coal plants is running there full tilt! Romney can take Pennsylvania.
Yes, don’t assume every member of a union is an Obama
supporter or drinks the kool aid.
PA is a coal state. I’ve seen a ton of Stop the War on Coal signs... The poll that has Bambi leading by 10 was based on a model of 39D 27R 28I. The Dems have been fighting the Voter ID law like crazy because they know that they can not win PA in a fair election.
I have not seen many Romney signs in my end of Allegheny County (other than my own), but I see very many anti-Obama signs. “Keep America Free - Fire Obama” and “Stop the War on Coal - Fire Obama” and the ones I see most. By the same token, I have not seen a single Obama sign. I’ve only seen a handful of bumper stickers, mostly the 2008 stickers. Only have seen a couple 2012 Obama stickers. Have seen a handful of Romney stickers and a bunch of anti-Obama stickers.
seems like we hear this every four years, and the Democrats win PA by a fairly comfortable margin.
That is pure idiocy of the highest order, bordering on psychotic dementia. If Obama wins, we will lose the Supreme Court for at at least 10 years. Obamacare will get so deeply entrenched that it would take 10-20 years to undo the mess, even if the White House was regained in 2016. The economy will go into a full blown 30's super depression. 30 million illegals will become voting Democrats and make it almost impossible for them to be beaten. And on and on.
When I saw the news story about Ryan outfitting his 10-year-old girl for hunting, I thought it might have some positive impact in Pennsylvania. Around 2000, I was considering a transfer to a G.E. office in Pennsylvania. I saw the company’s holiday schedule, and the first day of hunting season was a holiday — for the state, I believe; not G.E. They’re serious about the Second Amendment, and about hunting.
This is a quadrennial Dem talking point. They try it every time. The propagandists are out in force on Facebook.
I think its real, unfortunately. I know some of these types. Cowardly people who happen to be conservatives start to get worried that Obama might win, so instead of doubling down and trying harder to beat Obama, they essentially start saying crazy stuff like this so, if Romney loses, they will be able to save face. They will never admit this motive, but its there.
Coal and the Keystone Pipeline could definitely be issues where PA voters are turning against Obama.
This is an interesting tidbit
It’s not a state holiday, but it is for many companies, especially those in manufacturing. So it’s one good thing that comes from having a unionized workforce.
