An Iranian attempt to launch a satellite into space failed when the missile carrying the satellite exploded shortly after liftoff, completely destroying the satellite.
HIS Janes reported that the accident took place in May, and that Iran's space agency has made great efforts to hide it from the public's knowledge.
The failure is expected to set back Iran's space program considerably.
Western experts said that the mishap shows Iran is facing difficulties in ballistic missile development. Janes revealed that U.S. spy satellites followed the attempted launch, which took place at the space center near Tehran. Black spots were seen covering the area around the launching pad immediately after the accident.
Iranian officials announced that the Safir-1B satellite launch vehicle would be launched on May 23, but subsequently announced that the launch had been delayed for up to 10 months...

It would be funny if they accidentally nuke themselves.
Yabbut they have to get them far enough off the ground first to arm the barometric trigger...or radar altimeter, or whatever they're planning to use...otherwise, it's just a dirty bomblet.
I think they're usually armed by accelerometer + timer: acceleration sustained above a minimum rate for more than a minimum amount of time guarantees a minimum velocity and distance.
And as for a rocket dirty bombing their own launch site, I'll take that ;-)

So, I suppose launching Ahmadi-Nejad, as the other monkey, into space & orbit is off in the near future?

Another idea ... Let’s just expose him for the homo he is. Then we can watch the monkey run.

... okay, we will have to work quickly. Call in the paki operatives. When the monkey runs, am thinking he will run to calypso louie or zer0, maybe even both. We’ll get two, maybe three with one truth. It will make the lamestream go berserk.

Janes revealed that U.S. spy satellites followed the attempted launch... As a sidebar: Why does Jane's always seem to have access to, and openly share, information which is likely classified?
I know someone in the US Air Force who would frequently use Jane's as a source for foreign weapons capabilities for his briefings, because they had more information than he had access to through government channels!
Does that bother anyone else?

Considering the intelligence (or rather the lack thereof) from the zer0 crowd to our Military Leadership, could one blame our Military Leadership going elsewhere to obtain briefs? Most of the briefs given out by this zer0 crowd is packed full of lies. To obtain the best information, one should not and cannot trust D.C. That is particularly true at this time.
