The latest Fox News poll finds the race for the White House holds steady, with 48 percent of likely voters backing the Obama-Biden ticket and 43 percent backing the Romney-Ryan ticket, if the election were held today. Thats unchanged from two weeks ago, after the Democratic convention.
Romney was preferred by one percentage point (45-44 percent) before the two conventions (August 19-21).
The presidents advantage is within the polls margin of sampling error.[SNIP]
In addition, even as Obamas post-convention bounce holds, about a quarter of voters (24 percent) want the country to mostly stay on the course its on, while 73 percent say many policies need to change. Almost all Republicans (95 percent) and most independents (77 percent) think policies need to change, as do just over half of Democrats (51 percent).

Every poll has Romney winning with indies, keeps that up and barry will need that house in Hawaii lol
I agree. If the election were held today Romney would lose handily in the EC. I think that the problem for Romney is that guys like me who should be his base either won’t vote for him on principle or even if they will pull the lever for him aren’t at all fired up and ready to help. For the record, I’ll never vote for him. I’d rather have Zero. Screw the RINOs.
I didn’t see anywhere where it shows D+4.
Actually it’s D+3 (gulp). But if you look at internals, nothing makes sense.
Obama is underwater in most every category - Stimulus, Middle East policy, Economy, Kept Promises, etc.
It’s one of two things. Voters are afraid of being called a racist (and will vote Romney once inside the booth). Or they feel bad for the first black prez and want to give him another shot. There is no other explanation. The internal numbers do not jive with someone who has 50% approval and amidst this economic train wreck.
This poll has Obama winning indies.
The poll says 73% want change, but Obama is ahead?
This poll refutes itself.
Exactly (see post above). The internals of the poll makes no sense. He gets low marks across this board.
Its almost like they feel okay disapproving of his policies but not him personally - for fear of race card.
I said the major stockholder (not the majority stockholder) of FOX News is a Saudi, and you think I’m delusional? Sorry, friend. But polls are agenda-driven propaganda. It was ever thus. I put little to no stock in them.
I have and a +4 D skewing is right on. Don’t tell me... Broken Glass Republicans? Or the Bradley effect? Or whatever...
Funny, I haven’t seen you post till now..
When the truth seems hard to find, take it to the streets. That’s where you’ll find the truth.
Ask the local GOP chairmen, in counties of swing states. Donate five or ten bucks. Strike up a conversation with them.
Ask them what’s been coming down the grapevine from the Romney campaign. Your fears will be alleviated.
One of few. Most have him up double digits with indies
In October of 2010, Obama was (supposedly) polling at 54%. two weeks later, Dems lost in the biggest landslide in history. Enough said.
That is because Democrats didn’t show up at the polls. Let’s hope they don’t in 2012 as well.
At least they did.
Oh boy. I HATE ROMNEY and still voting for his dumb ass. I just can’t see the next four years with Obama after the last month. He is dismal as heck. At least with Romney, we can clean up a little. Yes Romney sucks but Obama is worse. I hate the cheerleading for Romney the liberal creep but I am still voting for him God help me.
Some are doing better than others .... :-)
Double digit leads in indies is all gravy for Romney.
Now that the media is starting to ask barry people about the Libyan lies, Romneys indy lead might even grow
