WASHINGTON -- President Obama has been forced to cancel several debate practice sessions with Senator John F. Kerry, whom he tapped to play stand-in for Republican challenger Mitt Romney, leaving little time for them to spar ahead of next weeks first presidential debate.
The Massachusetts senator has held at least one mock debate with Obama to help him prepare for the first matchup against the former Massachusetts governor to be held Oct. 3 in Denver, but several others were cancelled due to the the presidents busy schedule, said deputy Obama campaign manager Stephanie Cutter.

Busy schedule? Fund raising, TV appearances, some campaigning. Who are they trying to kid? Not sure if it is an advantage to do the practice with Kerry or skip it.
Kerry is still prepping for the debates, alongside an empty chair
getting ready to cancel the debates ,sorry way tooooo busy working for you ,my people ,a phone in every pot
Some intrepid journalist will leak Obama the questions (poor guy, he's been too busy to prep) in plenty of time to have the teleprompter ready.
1) Disinformation
2) Lowering expectations
“Kerry is still prepping for the debates, alongside an empty chair”
He should be doing it next to a woodpile.
I hope they do. It won't sell as soon as people are reminded he misses intelligence briefings and spends his time on The View and jetting off to Las Vegas.
The obvious bravado that exudes from the Obama camp reminds one of the aura of confidence of a drunk about to walk a tightrope fifty feet above the crowd, without a net.
Naturally, The Won does not need the practice....
They cannot possibly cue up the Teleprompter quickly enough to provide smooth and relevant responses to what will be coming at him in the course of the debate.
No way do I believe this story.
It is just more pablum for the sheeple! He is not expecting to win, and can keep any money left for his "pResidential Library" in HI!
I've been too busy to debate Lurch ... and I don't really need to anyway cause the libtard newser moderators are taking their questions directly from DNC talking points!
I’m not worried. He’ll get a script from the moderators and the producer.
Seriously, these “debates” are way too staged and prepared in advance. I say let’s do surprise debate, where we tell them both on Monday that it’s gonna be Wednesday in a school auditorium with a pool camera and everybody’s smart phones. Sort of like the problems real life hands out.
Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner.
Obama: What can this loser (John Kerry) teach me?
His double is preparing so that Barry doesn’t have to do the work.
No matter. BO knows that his presstitutes have already written their articles proclaiming him the winner of all three debates.
After all, they all agreed that Reagan lost, Papa Bush lost, George Bush lost and I’m sure Romney will lose too. It’s a tradition with the Democrat media to see their candidate as the winner, no matter how lame the performance. Fortunately, 60% of the American people now refuse to believe anything these grifters report.
Why does he need to practice? He already has the questions, and his staff has prepared answers for him.
Obama got one mock debate and had enough. Either his ego wouldn't let him go through that again or he is just to lazy. This stuff about a "busy schedule" is horsehockey.
Who’s kidding who? Obama already has the questions that will be asked and has memorized his cute little digs and quips and one-liners. I could score 100 on any test if I had the questions in advance. The press/media know that’s the only way Obama could win the debate without his teleprompter telling him what to say.
BINGO2!
