TOLEDO, OhioMitt Romney projected confidence Wednesday that he's going to win Ohio, in spite of a recent spate of polls showing him trailing President Barack Obama in this crucial swing state.
"I'm going to win Ohio," Romney told NBC's Ron Allen in an interview. "I'm going to become the next president."
In a separate interview with ABC's David Muir, Romney downplayed several recent polls that suggest he's losing ground to Obama in Ohio and other battleground states. "Polls go up, polls go down," Romney told ABC. But, he added, he was "absolutely convinced" that people would support his campaign after watching his first debate with Obama, scheduled for next week.
Romney's comments came as he wrapped up a quick bus tour in Ohio with a rally at a convention center herevowing he will create new jobs and turn the economy around "when I become president."
Fueled by the cheers of more than 3,000 supporters, Romney repeatedly slammed Obama, linking him to increased gas priceswhich he claimed had doubled under Obama's watchand accusing the president of wanting to raise taxes on small businesses.
"He wants to raise the tax rates on them. That'll kill jobs," Romney said. "I'm gonna lower the tax rates. He wants to raise them. I'll create jobs. He'll kill 'em."

Romney nailing it. I did not think he had it in him. Now if he will just keep it up for the next 6 weeks!
God help us all, you better Mitt.
Considering the number of Holder’s people in the state ... good luck.
After watching Part 1 of The Project tonight on Blaze TV on Dish Network...Glenn Beck’s new channel...ummm...if we get that thing out and about and 2016 showing on a channel sometime in the next 3 weeks...Obama will be landslided.
The Project is about the scariest political documentary I have watched.
Election would be a landslide but for the Pravda media.
What is “ The Project?”
Ohio is 84% white.
Lets go
Just me, but this is not smart. Actions speak louder than words.
PING
Obama has a one- or two-point lead in each of the Key Three States in this years election, Ohio, Florida and Virginia. The president is also up by three in Wisconsin and up two in Nevada. Romney is now up two in Colorado and ahead by three in Iowa and New Hampshire. All these states remain Toss-Ups in the Rasmussen Reports Electoral College Projections.
All tossups go to Romney because it means Obama is polling under 50%, at least according to Dick Morris.
Then why is there any doubt that Romney will win? White guilt. Stupidity. What? Long term whites on welfare ... I just don’t understand.
Please, educate me. I’m dumbfounded.
That message was for us, too. Either he must have internal polling that said so or he’s throwing the gauntlet at Big Ears.

It could be internal polling but FR users here (LS, LdSentinal, Ravi) are tracking Ohio absentee ballot requests by county and party. I would suggest searching for their posts every day because the posts are hugely informative.
Bottom-line, absentee requests for Democrats are very much down compared to 2008 and those for Republicans are hugely up. Assuming Dems vote Dem and Reps vote Rep, the numbers are showing large voting intensity for Republicans and much diminished enthusiasm for Democrats, so far anyway. If this trend holds, and it’s showing also in North Carolina, polls showing democratic turnout like 2008 (D+7) will be garbage.
He’s down in polls that are oversampling Democrats
