I love this. So by your statement The system is broke and she is scrounging because she’s broke but the system is not broke for men? You keep feigning ignorance over the fact that men are in the exact same situation as she is. You keep attempting to make yourself correct in your misogynist little world by pretending there’s some infinite number of working men to take care of all the unemployed women.
You’re wrong.
Your attitude of women as second class citizens is more inline with Afghanistan.
I won’t bother responding any longer so you can have the next ten or twenty responses. I won’t care. what you said was ignorant. I called you out on it. You can wriggle about all you want it won’t change facts.

Never said that men weren't in a bad situation too. The article was about a particular woman, and I suggested a solution for that particular woman.

It's not necessarily a universally-applicable solution, but few things are.

In real life, you rarely have solutions, you have trade-offs. You list all your possible options, and you try to select the best (or least worst) of those options.

For unemployed people in Spain and Greece, the set of options are limited. For people in Somalia, they are even more limited. You pick from your available options. One of those options is always "give up and die".

I've had an old college buddy staying with me for a while. He had some health issues, was unable to keep a job, and it was either let him live with my family or see him on the streets. He's been living with us. He does the dishes and the laundry. He's now found some work, and hopefully will be moved out by the end of the year. But if he came in with the attitude of "give me food and shelter and don't expect me to do anything in return", I would have told him "There's the streets, have fun".

And about my being a male chauvinist pig, yep, that I am. My wife of thirty years tells me that at least once a week. But I've supported her and our kids for thirty years.
