President Hosni Mubarak did not even wait for President Obama’s words to be translated before he shot back.
“You don’t understand this part of the world,” the Egyptian leader broke in. “You’re young.”
Mr. Obama, during a tense telephone call the evening of Feb. 1, 2011, had just told Mr. Mubarak that his speech, broadcast to hundreds of thousands of protesters in Tahrir Square in Cairo, had not gone far enough. Mr. Mubarak had to step down, the president said.
Minutes later, a grim Mr. Obama appeared before hastily summoned cameras in the Grand Foyer of the White House. The end of Mr. Mubarak’s 30-year rule, Mr. Obama said, “must begin now.” With those words, Mr. Obama upended three decades of American relations with its most stalwart ally in the Arab world, putting the weight of the United States squarely on the side of the Arab street.
It was a risky move by the American president, flying in the face of advice from elders on his staff at the State Department and at the Pentagon, who had spent decades nursing the autocratic — but staunchly pro-American — Egyptian government.
Nineteen months later, Mr. Obama was at the State Department consoling some of the very officials he had overruled. Anti-American protests broke out in Egypt and Libya. In Libya, they led to the deaths of four Americans, including the United States ambassador to Libya, J. Christopher Stevens. A new Egyptian government run by the Muslim Brotherhood was dragging its feet about condemning attacks on the American Embassy in Cairo.

In this rather remarkable and somewhat honest article, the Slimes, in its inimitable way, kinda sorta gets around to saying the unsayable: that Barry is single-handedly responsible for a catastrophic foreign policy disaster in the ME because he's such a megalomaniac that he never listens to anyone and thinks everyone around the world fawns over him like the WH press corps.
Oh yeah Barry, you the Mahdi!
But since it's Barry that's responsible, the Slimes discloses the epic extent of the disaster to their looney left readership in that hushed, prevaricating, handwringing style that they always use when even they can no longer deny that their hero is a conceited narcisstic idiot.
And that's the Slimes. If you're not the Slimes, you might come to the conclusion that Barry is a malevolent sob out to promote the Islamists, undermine this country and destroy Israel. And that might be the nicest spin you can put on it.

Only the brilliant sycophants of the WH press corp can fathom how undermining allies (Israel, UK, Poland, Czech Republic) and cozying up to enemies (Russia, Iran, Muslim Brotherhood) constitutes a mastery of foreign affairs.
Yes, I know, bin Laden is dead (and so are a bunch of SEALS whose security was compromised by WH leaks). And the drone attacks - which oh so ironically had they been carried out by the Bush WH, the the very same MSM that praises Zero would never tire of screaming about the “innocents” killed - which have gotten us to the brink of a Taliban victory in Afghanistan.
Yeah, that Barry, just look at all those foreign policy achievements. All praise to the great and wonderful Barry.

whoops, I made it sound like Tariq’s visa ban was lifted in 2009 by the admin with the aid of the ACLU, Clinton actually did it in January 2010 and Tariq made a victory lap here in April 2010.

A: I don’t belong to the Muslim Brotherhood. (A few days ago) someone asked me to condemn my grandfather. I said, “Look. I’m not from the Muslim Brotherhood. He was living in the ’30s and the ’40s. He was against British colonization. He built schools. He was promoting a vision. There are things with which I agree, and others, that put into context, I may disagree. But I’m not condemning him. He never killed someone.”
Note that while he says that he does agree with some aspects of the Brotherhood program, he only “may” disagree with other aspects. Again, he is sidestepping the essential question: does Tariq Ramadan wish to extend the hegemony of Sharia to the West, even by non-violent means?

Ramadan is probably one of the top guys in the Muslim Brotherhood. I’ve always thought Obama was a member. Thinking of Dinesh and his 2012 movie here when I say they bear deep grudges for British anti-Colonialism.
