New voting laws in 23 of the 50 states could keep more than 10 million Hispanic U.S. citizens from registering and voting, a new study said on Sunday, a number so large it could affect the outcome of the November 6 election.
The Latino community accounts for more than 10 percent of eligible voters nationally. But the share in some states is high enough that keeping Hispanic voters away from the polls could shift some hard-fought states from support for Democratic President Barack Obama and help his Republican rival, Mitt Romney.

That imposes onerous and sometimes expensive documentation requirements on voters, especially targeting naturalized American citizens, many of whom are Latino, the liberal group said.

Yep. Me too.
The Sec. of State office discovered our move via the United States Postal Service address records....
Wiser Now call Jon Husted's Ohio Secretary of State office and notify them of what's going on and ask where you should send this absentee ballot request back to.
I'm tell you both about this because the Sec. of State is making an attempt to purge the voter rolls for accuracy sake.
The PA voter ID Law may help us carry the Keystone State. The latest polls show Obama at 47% and Romney at 45%. Been many years since PA went Republican in the Presidential Race. This could make a difference.
The PA voter ID Law may help us carry the Keystone State.
May it be so......... Good luck.
Not likely since it was essentially struck down.
I couldn’t work up any “outrage.” There are a lot of people who should not be voting, esp. new citizens who can’t find their naturalization certificates or US passports...
Our county fair starts this week and you have to have a photo ID if you are in the military and want to get in at a reduced rate. Isn't it ironic? LOL
There isn’t 10 million legal Hispanics in the U.S.
More media spin
The PA Voter ID Law was struck down? I did not know that. I’m telling you; this nation will deserve whatever we get in the days and years ahead.
They sent it back to the lower court with unstructions to the lower court to essentially nullify it.
Sounds like a good start!
Thanks deport for the list.
Sorry about Wisconsin, have they even filed for appeal?
Did the lower court nullify it?
Did the lower court nullify it?

In Harrisburg Pennsylvania, the State Supreme Court today, by a 4-2 vote, has remanded the controversial Voter Photo ID Law back to the lower court. As reported by the Philadelphia Inquirer:
The Supreme Court has ordered that the states controversial new voter ID law be returned to a lower court for a speedy hearing on how the state is implementing it to ensure all voters have access to appropriate state-issued photo identification.
The Supreme Court decision gave the lower court until October 2nd to determine the impact and the ability of the state to insure voting eligibility protections. With todays remand, the lower court will face pressure from plaintiffs and advocacy groups to overturn the law on constitutional grounds, but more compellingly that there is simply not enough time or state facilities available to get the required Photo IDs into the hands of upwards of 750,000 voters impacted by the new requirement by the November 6th General Election.

Don’t know.
I had never noticed that the Alien Registration number was on the certificate. When I read your post I had to run and check it... yes, it's there! All I can think is that my picture is so bad that I had never spent much time looking at the certificate!!! Instead I have the US flag they gave me at the swearing in ceremony, it is kind of faded but it still waves over my desk. My husband and children know that I want to be buried holding it in my hands.
HA !!!
I have a cute photo...
