Actually, I would ask that question of SecState Hillary(!) Clinton — a notorious hater of anyone in uniform — and the other DoS weenies, including our ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson and UN ambassador Susan Rice.
That Marines should be assigned to these hot spots is a no brainer . . . and Marines should be armed to the teeth. They should NOT be under the control of the DoS morons.
