TALLAHASSEE — Time after time since taking office, Gov. Rick Scott has boasted of rejecting billions of dollars from the federal government. Now, Washington has turned the tables, shutting down Scott's plea for financial aid in a move that almost instantly took on political tones.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency refused Scott's request for a presidential declaration of disaster for damages caused by Tropical Storm Isaac, declining to provide $26.9 million in aid to hard-hit counties.
Scott moved this week to appeal the decision, but not before the issue was cast in a political light, highlighting Florida's importance in the presidential election and the rocky relationship between Washington and the Sunshine State.
.....[Chris] Fugate [FEMA director], who served as director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management from 2001-09, this week let Scott know his request had been denied.
Fugate's letter stated that the damage was not severe enough to require federal aid, and basically argued that Florida could handle the costs on its own.
The rejection is the latest dust-up in a tenuous relationship between Scott and the federal government.
Shortly after coming into office, Scott rejected more than $2 billion in federal funds aimed at building a high-speed rail line. Obama criticized Scott for the snub, saying he thought it was "wrong."
Scott helped support the U.S. Supreme Court challenge to Obama's federal health care reform this year. When the Supreme Court upheld most of the law in June, Scott said Florida would not accept billions of federal dollars to expand Florida's Medicaid rolls.
Scott also has battled Washington over early voting changes and purging noncitizens from the voter rolls.......

I convinced an apolitical mid-twenty something last weekend that Hussein and the rat party were abusing her generation and her only possible hope for a prosperous future was to dump all things democrat. We must all keep at it.
I doubt the Republicans in Florida are SMART ENOUGH to play this right (they certainly aren’t generally), but a SNUB like this can drive Florida straight into the Republican camp in November.
But that takes some guts, and...

I am totally sick and scared for you good people in the U.S. of A.
Although we are doing fine in Panama, it does not make me sleep any better at night worrying about my country.
I have no idea how this is going to turnout. I don’t have high hopes. The cheating is going to be outrageous in favor of the bastard if we get to elections. (Actually, I can’t vote since I am not a resident of any state. I made that choice. I did not want to pay state taxes just to vote once every two years.)
Should Romney win, what plans does the Chicago mafia have to continue staying in power? Or maybe they will try and make their move before elections.

If you need to escape, Panama will greet you with open arms.
If you have pets, they are welcomed too. They will need certain shots to get into the country. There is no quarantine period as there was years ago...six months...awful. There is no need to leave your extended family behind. There also some good vets in Panama, and it will not cost you a zillion dollars every time your pet needs to see the doctor.
You can have firearms in Panama. Buy them here. There is too much legal paperwork involved to ship them with you. It is also a very long process. It is not worth it. Just sell them, and purchase your new firearms here.

The Obama Admininistration also refused to send aid to VA after the earthquake of Aug 2011. AND refused permits to drill off-shore that would help our energy independence.
