The Democrats were very successful in suppressing Republican voters in 2008 ~ in fact, the Republicans got out about 59 million voters and the Democrats got out about 69 million voters.

That's about 17% more Democrat votes than Republican votes.

Tens of millions of other voters didn't bother showing up.

Obamugabe has been such a terrible disappointment it's actually possible for fewer Democrats to show up in this election.

(NOTE: Republicans would probably have won with a Conservative candidate in 2008. The lurch to the left resulted in fewer Republican voters showing up in 2008 than in 2004.)

Actually, I'd say John McCain was very successful in suppressing Republican voters in 2008.

They may well have won if the McCain team had supported Sarah Palin instead of backstabbing her. Apparently it was more important to them to discredit her than to win the presidency.
