Tim Pawlenty quit as co-chair of Mitt Romney's presidential campaign on Thursday to become one of Wall Street's top lobbyists in Washington. Pawlenty, a former governor of Minnesota, will lead the Financial Services Roundtable.
The move came with Romney's campaign struggling to find its stride with just seven weeks left before Election Day. Polls show the former Massachusetts governor running neck and neck with President Barack Obama in a contest both sides predict will be very close

I suppose it does kinda suck to be more conservative than your boss, when he’s running for President.
I’ll tell you how to read it.
A caller to Rush’s show yesterday called attention to the RINOs that were running Romney’s campaign, and Rush noted that they wouldn’t be there without Romney’s acceptance.
.
I think Mitt was listening, and asked Pawlenty to step down.
.
Who is running that has the American peoples interest first? Not Romney. He had his staffers start the first attacks on Sarah Palin in hopes that the GOP would lose and he would not have to wait 8 yrs to run again. He got his wish we got Obama. He either did not believe Obama was that bad for the Country or did not care. Romneys special interest is himself.
John Bolton would be awesome.
Yeah. We saw how McCain made out.
I heard that too....you’re correct.
A politician thrown out has to find a job and usually one that pays well. End of story.
If there is more to the story, (shaping policy for example) I hope it was that his milquetoast cautionary advice was at odds with Mitt's pending aggressiveness.
Romney is sounding quite conservative at heart, as I've been speculating for months. Now we need to see more of his deepest held conservative convictions on display on the campaign trail. Pawlenty couldn't help him there, IF that's the plan. It had better be. I'm still confident of a landslide,
Yup. I agree. And that 47% line probably brought in more donations and support from grassroots conservatives than anything else Mittens has done or said to date.
Meant to add that seeing hearing that 47% percent bit was the first time I was actually enthused about voting for Romney. Before it, I was figuring on pulling the lever while holding my nose.
He needs to call in Newt and Trump.”
I would love to see him hire Newt to do a formalized weekly press briefing on his half. Would keep MSM busy doing a compare and contrast.
Oh Pawlease... good riddance.
Bam! I missed that one, thanks.
For Yahoo even to admit it is neck and neck after their daily Obamagsm (struggling) is moving FORWARD!
It shows me that no matter how his corrupt "Two-Party Cartel" nominates their candidate they always have a the most liberal in the finals.
Salient point.
Barrack/ Sounds like something you do while hanging on to the porcelain throne for dear life so you don’t fall off the edge of the earth.
The Romney team must not have a space for him to graze in the future administration....
Could it be that Mitt pulled a bait and switch on the GOP-e? Cozy up to them in the primaries and get the nomination, then after the convention go conservative on them.
Turnabout is fair play.
I cannot WAIT to see that picture come 11/7 and again on 1/20/13. Just perfect.
Tim Pawlenty has no place to graze in a future Romney Administration
