Angus King's lead shrinks to 15 points over Charlie Summers in one poll, and to 8 points in a second poll.
Two new polls released Wednesday show former Gov. Angus King holding onto a significantly narrowed lead in Maine's Senate race.
Public Policy Polling, a national pollster, has King with 43 percent, Republican Charlie Summers with 35 percent and Democrat Cynthia Dill with 14 percent. King is running as an independent.
The 8-percentage point lead is significantly smaller than the 25-point lead found by polls conducted between April and June before pro-Republican groups began airing anti-King television advertisements statewide...

If it’s PPP, then it’s even closer.
Why yes it is!......
an outside group needs to run ads attacking King for being too right-wing .. to siphon votes back to the Democrat.
RNC is running ads like crazy, marking King a crony (pushing wind power, and having a substantial financial interest in a wind power company) and “changed,” I assume from the time he was governor.
Wait, has one of the RINO twins of Maine decided not to seek re-election?
King ruined the state of Maine (thankfully the voters got LePage in). Angus would love to help ruin the USA!!
Maine Voters... elect Summers...and please CD-1 voters, elected Courtney over that Fool, Pingress.
If Maine picks up either 1 or both CD and Summers win...it will be a long night for the D.
It would be funny if Vermont got smart and kick out Sanders (of course, VT has about 5 LIBERALS running against Bernie and the Republican, who name is John MacGovern.
Here is who John MacGovern is going against:
MacGovern is running in the 2012 election for the U.S. Senate, representing Vermont. He defeated Brooke Paige in the August 28, 2012, Republican primary. He faces incumbent Bernie Sanders (D), Cris Ericson (United States Marijuana Party), Laurel LaFramboise (VoteKISS), Pete Diamondstone (Liberty Union), and Peter Moss (Peace and Prosperity) in the general election on November 6, 2012
Snowe is not running for re-election.
Pretty big news when it was announced several months ago...
I guess I missed it.
Well...it was thought the seat was lost when King decided to run so it hasn’t been discussed very much but apparently it wasn’ written off after all.
Strangely, actually elevating the Democrat candidate would help us win this seat by splitting the liberal vote. King is a liberal who would caucus with Reid...hence why the DSCC has been so quiet about supporting their own candidate - they are actually backing King in the background.
