Washington Compost in VA: 0bama 52% Romney 44% - No internals available

With just seven weeks of campaigning left before the November election, President Obama holds a clear lead over Mitt Romney in Virginia, buoyed by growing optimism about the state of the country and fueled by a gender gap working in his favor, according to a new Washington Post poll.

Obama leads his Republican rival by 52 percent to 44 percent among likely voters. Among all registered voters, the president leads by 50 percent to 43 percent, a margin identical to that recorded in a survey in early May. That indicates that Romney has made up little apparent ground against Obama during four intense months of advertising and campaign visits.

Let’s face it. The communists have made ALL of the “polls” worthless. No use even paying attention to them anymore. They are all about Barry. Everything in the “media” now is about Barry.

I know its the Compost, but this is the third poll in a week with 0bama +50% in VA. Gotta think Romney is in some trouble there.

So I’m supposed to believe that Obama does better among likely voters than registered voters? I call B. S.

“growing optimism about the state of the country”

Who wouldn’t feel better? Our ambassador to Libya is dead and we got downgraded... again. What’s the sampling rate here? Dems +862

Is Romney even advertising in Virginia?

I really would like to see the internals.

“The poll was conducted by telephone Sept. 12-16 among a random sample of 1,104 adults in Virginia. Interviews were conducted on conventional and cellular telephones, and carried out in English and Spanish. The margin of error for registered and likely voter samples is plus or minus 4 percentage points...”

I can believe those numbers.

Think about it, Virginia has how many hundreds of thousands of Gov’t jobs?

They want Zero to keep the paychecks rolling in.

Did you see the photographs on the damn web page? Some old woman hugging Obama...and the pic of Romney shows him frowning.

Agitprop.

Look, this newspaper is the the most liberal in the country outside of the NY Times. They have an agenda and it’s to discourage conservatives and to set up the fake outrage when Obama loses. There’s no way this President and his failed policies is up by the exact same margin he won the state by in 2008. Zero chance.

Anecdotal observations over this past weekend: Traveled from Knoxville, TN to Manassas, VA to Purcellville, VA to Alexandria, VA and back to Knoxville, a total of ~1100 miles.

In all those travels I saw: 5 bumper stickers for Romney and 2 for Obama (one near Alexandria on I66 and one in TN near Morristown) and 12 yard (and barn) signs for Romney and 5 for Obama (these were all in one little town near Purcellville). Can we say this is different than 2008?

The internals are there you just have to click on details. But here’s the takeaway. Obama and Romney both have about 95% support from their parties while independents in this poll give Obama a less than 2 point edge. So to get an 8 point margin, the sample has to be dem +6 to dem +8. I’d guess that will not be how it shakes out in the end since Republicans made big gains in 2010.

I live in Virginia. I have YET to see an Obama yard sign. I see very few Obama bumper stickers, and those I **DO** see are on cars plastered with Dem stickers.

I’m taking this no-internals poll with a large grain of salt. . . about a 50-pound bag sounds right. . .

Even PPP had VA around the margin of error today!

Haven’t seen any Romney ads in SWVA, seen several Obama ads.
