Matt Bracken is a friend of mine. He is a former Navy SEAL, author, entrepreneur, sailor, and a very bright man. The insight he provides in his articles and in the pieces I have linked to below are not conventional or politically correct. Matt writes and speaks with the forthrightness of a man who is unwilling to risk his teammates, friends or his country because he was too afraid to ask the right question.
Asking the right question is often the difference between a successful mission or a disaster of strategic magnitude. Matt knows this and he is well aware of the consequences of his questioning. He has been personally insulted, slandered, libeled and will continue to be derided as a fear monger, racist and worse. He is nothing of the kind. He is an intelligent and capable man who sees situations as they are and not as he would wish them to be. He asks the right questions.
Asking the right question and demanding the right answer is what our journalists are supposed to be doing. However, the media has decided that they know better than we the people and so in their learned ways they are going to foist - as they did in 2006 and 2008 - their preferred candidates upon us. Their agenda, via the poison of political correctness, prevents our politicians, writers and thinkers from even asking the right questions. Their agenda to "Afflict the comfortable and comfort the afflicted" has morphed into an agenda that is an adjunct to the Democrat National Committee.
Bloggers, journalists, and writers like Matt Bracken are heroes to me. I've been blessed to know several of them. They ask tough questions and infer logical consequences to actions based upon their knowledge of human nature and common sense. I would strongly encourage you to read the links below and consider what these articles conclude about our country and the direction it is headed - than act accordingly.
Below is an article from "Small Wars Journal". SMJ is an unofficial US Army think tank. The article is an analysis of what the US Army would do in response to a hypothetical conflict with the "Tea Party". If you read Matt's articles without understanding that these two recent articles are in RESPONSE to a battle scenario postulated by a former Army Colonel and a Civil War Historian paid by the US Government you might miss the impact of his hypothesis.
Full Spectrum Operations in the Homeland
This is Matt's response to the above article:
Matt Bracken: When The Music Stops
Here is Matt's additional hypothetical result of the above article:
Matt Bracken: What I saw at the coup
This is Matt's discussion on an internet forum that demonstrates the weakness of Islam if we were to consider the religion itself as our enemy.
It is a very thoughtful piece.
Enjoy having your mind streched!
I know this didn't happen over night. Still, one Kenyan can bring us down this far in 3 years? Were we really that hollowed out? I liked it better when TMs stuff was interesting fiction.
We’re very hollowed out. Look at our top generals actively getting behind the pro-homosexual military.
Every day when I wake up, I am waiting to hear that missiles are flying around the ME, and an American warship is in flames.
Or that Europe is haveing an “emergency,” and the banks are not opening, and the NY stock exchange will not open on time.
Or a Japanese warship has been torpedoed in the South China Sea.
And it’s game on.
This may be the last “normal” election in our lifetimes.

We cannot forget that both India and Pakistan "tested" and announced their nuclear capability during Clinton's administration because the Indian's didn't trust Clinton to protect them in the event of a Chinese or Pakistani war. Pakistan didn't trust Clinton to be an honest broker of the India-Paki conflict so it to had to detonate to prove their capability. America's perceived weakness raised the stakes of regional nuclear war.
The same is true in our current situation. If the World's Policeman (Pax Americana) can't be trusted well then the gang members of the other countries have to be shown how tough the resident gang is. It is an escalation based upon weakness - both real and imagined.
There are any number of scenarios that can be conjured up to describe what will happen if....
The problem is the unpredictability of the current American Regime. We don't even know if Obama has assured Israel he will support a strike on Iran and not actively oppose it.
Remember the USS Liberty? What happens if Obama tells the Admiral of the USS Stennis to actively oppose an Israeli AF incursion over Iraqi or NATO Ally Turkish Airspace? Legal order? Illegal order? Could that order be issued? Do you think Colonel Benson would think it a legal order? How Many - if any - Flag officers would resign in the event of such an order?
Were that scenario to come about do you think the Stennis Battlegroup would still be afloat four hours later? Do you think American popular opinion would demand nuclear retaliation against Israel for such an act? Each of us can posit a similarly frightening devolution of the world situation. Game on. I hope some active-duty people are contemplating this because I think Col. Benson's scenario is pretty frickin benign compared to mine or the one Matt posits above.

Yes. And 5 or 6 years ago I thought life was pretty good.
Now I wonder how to apologize to my kids for allowing to happen.
Nose in the wind amigo!
We may know before November.
My friend's brother, who lives in Alaska, is encouraging her to seriously do what she can NOW to become self-sufficient in all ways asap. He told her yesterday that he believes our country will implode....by end of next year. She knows I read a lot and called me tonight to ask what I thought and suggestions of what to do.
I told her I agree with her brother, there's a high possibility we'll see a Mad Max situation by year end 2013....and if not by then, conceivably shortly thereafter. We just cannot continue going as we have been without an implosion.

For ten years I have been asking friends and family what they think the mother's of America thought in 1858. Do you think they envisioned 725,000 dead seven years later? I think Ayer's was prescient when he said it would take 25,000,000 deaths to bring about the change the progressive left wanted. But, then being a leftist he forgot "The Law of Unintended Consequences" so, the number is probably closer to 75,000,000.
Merry Christmas!

In the mean time, in the China Sea, reports late today placed two of the new Type 54A Guided missile frigates of the PLAN 150 km off the Daioyu Islands with JMSDF frigates or destroyers also in the vicinity. If the Japanese announce an exclusion zone around the islands, then watch out.
LOL! Yea, should be a peach.
Once any of these happens, the other bad actors around the world may take it as their signal to achieve their own regional goals. That’s why we used to have a “two major wars” policy. Then 1.5. Now 1. Soon?
The other players are watching, and waiting.

Bumping due to relevant times.....
I’d say “this close” to writing a prophetic story.
It’ll never happen.
That depends on what your idea of “famous” is.
Interesting reading back through this thread that I didn’t see in its day. We’re probably much closer now than we ever were in 2012, at least in my opinion.
The crazies have lost all control.
Detailed, fascinating. Thanks. BUMP!
Thanks for reading it.
