Matt Bracken is a friend of mine. He is a former Navy SEAL, author, entrepreneur, sailor, and a very bright man. The insight he provides in his articles and in the pieces I have linked to below are not conventional or politically correct. Matt writes and speaks with the forthrightness of a man who is unwilling to risk his teammates, friends or his country because he was too afraid to ask the right question.
Asking the right question is often the difference between a successful mission or a disaster of strategic magnitude. Matt knows this and he is well aware of the consequences of his questioning. He has been personally insulted, slandered, libeled and will continue to be derided as a fear monger, racist and worse. He is nothing of the kind. He is an intelligent and capable man who sees situations as they are and not as he would wish them to be. He asks the right questions.
Asking the right question and demanding the right answer is what our journalists are supposed to be doing. However, the media has decided that they know better than we the people and so in their learned ways they are going to foist - as they did in 2006 and 2008 - their preferred candidates upon us. Their agenda, via the poison of political correctness, prevents our politicians, writers and thinkers from even asking the right questions. Their agenda to "Afflict the comfortable and comfort the afflicted" has morphed into an agenda that is an adjunct to the Democrat National Committee.
Bloggers, journalists, and writers like Matt Bracken are heroes to me. I've been blessed to know several of them. They ask tough questions and infer logical consequences to actions based upon their knowledge of human nature and common sense. I would strongly encourage you to read the links below and consider what these articles conclude about our country and the direction it is headed - than act accordingly.
Below is an article from "Small Wars Journal". SMJ is an unofficial US Army think tank. The article is an analysis of what the US Army would do in response to a hypothetical conflict with the "Tea Party". If you read Matt's articles without understanding that these two recent articles are in RESPONSE to a battle scenario postulated by a former Army Colonel and a Civil War Historian paid by the US Government you might miss the impact of his hypothesis.

That is a good point, if we declared war on Islam, there would be no real problems militarily. By killing every muslim, the Nicholas Bergs, Libyan Ambassadors, the 911s, et al would stop happening.

That Matt has the kind of insight he has into the left is just amazing, really. It’s very difficult to have a handle on if you haven’t actually seen it. I have, having been inside these circles as a teenager. The completely unscrupulous murderousness is spot on, and it was the same thing back in 1968.
My “cell” was a crazy marxist/leninist mix. I didn’t really like to get too close, the kadres were heavy drinkers apart from the mental stuff. And you didn’t get to the top without vomiting all over the place. So it was paranoia (has anoyne seen that strange car parked for six hours), drunken stupor, dreams of killing this or that, and the odd rape when the inner circle got some stupid woman paralyzed with booze and ideology.
Observing occupy and the others, it’s amazing how much things stay the same. Anyway, that cell’s organization was central and very well known. Today. that organization has top politicians and influence agents all over.
Last year, our own Homeland Security issued a imaginary scenario where TEA PARTY members took over a South Carolina town and detailed what the US Military response would be to what they announced was a genuine threat to America in the future.
Well, soemone else who was military wrote this piece out. This time, it takes into account actual historical violence our nation has endured, and where it came from, and how it could unfold given a scenario of lack of food in urban areas.

Matt is a great guy. I bought his book, “Enemies Foreign and Domestic” and recommend it.
there are three in the series. I recommend you read all three.
I read all three, they got better with each installment.
And hoping it remains so.
Rather bleak picture of what could come to past. But hard to dismiss all he wrote down as having the potential of developing. My eyes are shot. But I did spot read sections of it.
