MSNBCs Alex Wagner on her Now show today bashed Joel Gilberts documentary Dreams from My Real Father, which posits that Barack Obamas real father was not the Kenyan goatherder, but Frank Marshall Davis, a communist party activist.
It came as part of a segment where she recognized that Dinesh DSouzas film 2016, a hit documentary on Obamas life and cultural influences, is No. 5 on the list of highest grossing documentaries,
Showing the full-page advertisement Gilbert ran in last weeks New York Post, Wagner correctly pointed out that Gilbert argues in the documentary that Davis, the radical poet and journalist who was a card-carrying member of the Communist Party of the USA, was the real, biological and ideological father of Obama, not Barack Obama, the Kenyan, who came from Africa in 1959 to attend the University of Hawaii in Honolulu.
New York Post: Dreams from My Real Father, Full-Page Ad, scheduled to appear in New York Post
Wagner introduced discussion of Gilberts video in racial terms, by showing on the screen a copy of the New York Post ad and claiming Gilbert was othering Obama, presenting him as of outside mainstream America in terms of his nativity story.
Then panelist Wes Moore jumped in to argue that Obama would ignore Gilberts claim much as Moore claims Obama has sought to minimize challenges that the long-form birth certificate the White House presented the nation on April 27, 2011, is a forgery.

I’m sure MSNBC’s two viewers were in total agreement.
That’s ok, it just gives those movies more publicity.
What Crissy and Keith ?
So, for me, that interview ends any speculation that Frank Davis is Obama's real father. No, I guess we won't have any DNA comparison to back up my conclusion, but then we probably won't have any DNA comparison to end the doubts about whether Ted Baxter is Mitt Romney's real father either.
I dunno...I’ve always kinda thought of them as “Moon Unit” and “Dweezil”..........Frank Z would be proud...
As if influencing both of their viewers makes a bit of diff.
“Im sure MSNBCs two viewers were in total agreement”.
That’s what I was thinking, luckily nobody watched it.
They can try to ignore it, but the box offices show it at number 2 last week. People are going to watch it, despite the news media not touting it.
Yes indeed, how bizarre can they go.
And moving up...
And, in other breaking news, the sun rose in the east again today...
I saw a bit of film with Dsouza and Obama’s brother. I couldn’t get it to go full screen for some reason, but from what I saw, I didn’t see any overt resemblance either in appearance or mannerisms.
Absolutely ended my tolerance for entertaining ANY further speculation on Obama’s father. The brother remarkably resembled Brack, even with features that I had mistakenly attributed to Ann Dunham rather than the father, Obama, Sr. And to think the two are but half brothers, yet so resemble.
For me, the question of who fathered Brack is forever put to bed.
Go see the movie. You probably won't see the resemblance from some jerky, low quality, small screen youtube clip.
Mine too. Sure, we all know that Frank Davis was highly influential in Obama's childhood. He has admitted as much. But George clearly his half-brother.
You have a great tag line!
Yours is better.
For the Greater Glory was one of the best movies I have seen this year.
Thank you. The movie is very hard but history deserves to be remembered.
I just wonder if the little people can win like that anymore, in the face of modern technology? Then I remember David and Goliath, and God who must be figured in, in every outcome. Thanks.
