Anti-US sentiment prevalent in Cairo over movie deemed offensive to Islam said to be reason for temporary halt is aid funds
Anti-American protests over a film deemed offensive to Islam, which have started in Cairo and spread across the Muslim world, have reportedly stalled negotiations to provide US economic assistance to Egypt, the Washington Post reported Tuesday.
According to the report, Egypt's "clumsy response" to the storming of the US Embassy in Cairo has resulted in the US temporarily halting talks about a proposed $1 billion in debt relief, top Washington officials told the newspaper.
Probably take it out of Medicare. He considers that a slush fund.
Way to go Obama. Good move removing a moderate ally in Mubarak in favor of the America-hating Muslim Brotherhood. Why are we giving money to this terrorist organization in the first place?
Focus on the word “temporary”. This means nothing. Just a way for Odumbo to deflect criticism.
They’re sure sticking to the “film riots” story now aren’t they?
You know, I’ve wondered if they (radical rioting Muslims in Egypt) would be so bold as to tear up the wondrous history in that country...like they’ve done in other parts of the world. They don’t care about those pyramids, etc., and destroying them would be another way of flipping off the rest of the world.
U.S. checkbook is 16 trillion in the red. Where does this billion come from anyway?
Suspend is different than cancel.
Exactly. People have fallen for the headline. They’re not even “suspending” the aid but simply “suspending” talks about giving more aid.
Congress cutting off funds to Egypt? It’s a good start. They need to do same for all other Muslim controlled anti-American nations.

And there will not be any halt in aid recently approved by Congress. The propaganda is that future aid may be suspended, but Congress has already said as much pending a number of factors. The bottomline is that the aid money will continue to flow to Egypt.
Read the article and don't be fooled by the headline. Congress just passed the Omnibus funding bill that contains aid to Egypt thru March of next year. It will continue to flow. There is no suspension of aid, just a suspension temporarily in the talks regarding the excusing of $1 billion in debt.
We borrow all the money that goes to foreign aid.
"Congress should exercise its oversight powers to evaluate the aid package and the Morsi governments suitability for continued aid. It should approve the debt reduction package and continued foreign aid only if the Egyptian government makes ironclad commitments to:
Fully protect U.S. citizens and property, particularly the U.S. embassy and other diplomatic posts;
Maintain the peace treaty with Israel and stop deploying additional forces in the Sinai without prior Israeli approval;
Cooperate in fighting al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations; and
Implement policies that protect the rights of its citizens, including freedom of religion, expression, and association, as well as due process of law".

Allah helps those who help themselves?
Translation: WH is in CYA mode, until after the election. Then it will be business as usual.
Good. Egypt knew about the attacks. Their failure to protect the Embassies in their land is an act of war.
And now they’ve issued arrest warrants for Americans for exorcising their right of free speech.
Bite the hand that feeds you, and you can fend for yourselves.
“One official hedged that “no new aid is likely to be approved for Egypt until after the US presidential election.”
Key word for the whole article - “likely”. After the fact, the tomboy’s whores will say, “but, but, but... we said “likely”.
Nice pyramids, but, you didn’t build that.
