Everyone should pay something. If they don’t it puts them on the opposite side of their fellow citizens - the payers.

Everyone should have a sharp eye on the government. When one segment is doing the giving, and the other is taking, it automatically pits them against each other and they’re not united in their front to keep a limited government.

Flat tax rate. If 10% is good enough for God, it’s ample for the government. Cut the spending and make it work.

Citizens, protected by the US Constitution, should pay NOTHING.

If they so choose to participate in the economy (market) then the revenues generated by that market should pay for the activities and policies of the Government. (A flat tax is likewise immoral. God’s tithe was always intended to be voluntary and not a “tax”.)
