It's a conceit of the rich that the poor are just faking it. If the guy wants to be president he has to get over that.
Part of the 47% — they are a part of the mix, but don’t necessarily want to be. A few years ago, I lost my job. I had to take a much lower salary than what could really sustain me. However, I never stoppped trying to get a better paying job. Now, I have one, but only beause I didn’t stop trying. Some people don’t want to try beause it’s more comfortable not to.
Who are the poor?
When I read your comment, I thought of two stories I read on FR within the last couple of weeks - the first that showed more people were enrolled into Social Security Disability than were hired last month, and the other that showed a single mother had to earn more than $60,000 to do better economically than simply living on government benefits.
I don't think those new disability enrollees or single mothers having children to increase their benefits take are faking it; they know exactly what they are doing, and Obama is encouraging it.
What about the conceit of the entitled victim?
