Part of the 47% — they are a part of the mix, but don’t necessarily want to be. A few years ago, I lost my job. I had to take a much lower salary than what could really sustain me. However, I never stoppped trying to get a better paying job. Now, I have one, but only beause I didn’t stop trying. Some people don’t want to try beause it’s more comfortable not to.
LotS of folks get in trouble with the tax guys because they lose their jobs late in the year ~ just a couple of months can really screw you up ~ if, for instance, you bought a new car instead of setting aside money to tied you over a bad period.
i wonder what % of the 47% are there because of government obstacles in the form of regulations, taxes, licenses, etc?
