The exchange below, between Representative Trent Franks and Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez, occurred in late July, but is particularly relevant today. Representatvie Franks tries to extract an assurance from Perez that the Obama administration will not push a proposal to criminalize speech against any religion. He has a tough time doing so.

Makes the timing of the Libya attack and resultant blaming of a movie that much more suspicious.
Wouldn’t this “change in freedoms” require a constitutional amendment?
I’m not worried. The aclu will get out in front of this issue. /s
One cannot criticize Islam, but it will be okay to criticize Christanity.
I’m expecting all republicans to stand up and fight. They will start tomorrow for sure.
Well, if they decide to pursue this avenue, I certainly hope Obama’s DOJ goes after Sony’s new flick “Zero Dark Thirty,” along with the White Hut and Pentagon officials who provided the classified info to make this muslim-hating movie.
Gee, I wonder why the Obama regime keeps pointing to the video.
Gee.
Don’t waste a good crisis.
If you don’t have a crisis, manufacture one.
Fast and Furious didn’t work.
So let’s try Fast and Furious II.
Our government is the enemy of freedom.
No worries, John Boner is one the job! He’ll be sure to cry over it.
I think there's pretty much a general agreement among the DC elites that we don't need to follow the Constitution if it's too much of a hassle to do so.
If that happens we need to change the wording!
IS IT TRUE that the guy in California who made that movie, “The Innocence of Muslims” is a $1 million dollar contributor to Obama?? I’m just asking, if anyone knows - not accusing. It was posted earlier on FR, but don’t know the truth of it . . .
and it seems that the ONLY religion it is OK with this regime to criticize, lie about, and villify is CHRISTIANITY. Christians have been cast as “far rightwing extremists” by this regime, “dangerous” ones at that.
I interviewed Trent Franks in AZ when he was running for his current seat a few years back. Following the interview, we stood in the parking lot BSing for more than half an hour while his ‘people’ were made to wait ;)
Franks is a good man. Unfortunately he doesn’t have the ‘star power’ to take him to higher office where he really belongs.
1a guaranteed rights prevent this.
It was a pretty easy question. The Obortion DOJ has no respect or regard for the constitution.
Islam, the chosen SECRET religion of the pRres_ _ent,
is EXEMPT from ObamaCARE.

Also during his tenure with the Clinton DOJ, Perez volunteered for and later (from 1995-2002) became a board member of Casa de Maryland, a George Soros-funded advocacy group for illegal aliens.

Last October, at George Washington University, there was a meeting between DOJ officials, including Perez, and Islamist advocates against free speech. Representatives from the Islamist side included Mohamed Magid, president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA).... The leader of the Islamist [side] was Sahar Aziz, an Egyptian-born American lawyer and Fellow at the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding, a Muslim advocacy group based in Michigan. At the meeting, the Islamists lobbied for: cutbacks in U.S. anti-terror training; limits on the power of terrorism investigators; changes in agent training manuals; [and] a legal declaration that criticism of Islam in the United States should be considered racial discrimination. Aziz said that the word Muslim has become racialized and, once American criticism of Islam was silenced, the effect would be to “take [federal] money away from local police departments and fusion centers who are spying on all of us. ...
Nah. Just say it has a 'substantial effect' on interstate commerce, and voila. At least, that's how it worked with the Tenth Amendment.
I wish you people would stop thinking correctly! /s
All it takes is for Hussein to issue an Executive Order - that is the way he governs now and no one opposes him.
I expect him to do this if reelected. It will be a federal offense/automatic required prison time, to speak ill of Islam - I doubt he will get around to the other religions - just Islam, his religion. I'm going into hiding now.
