Ambassador Susan Rice: U.S. Not ‘Impotent’ in Muslim World’
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice told me this morning on “This Week” that the United States is not “impotent” in the face of violent protests sweeping the Muslim world being aimed at American interests.
“We’re not impotent,were not even less popular to challenge that assessment” said Rice. ” What happened this week in Cairo, in Benghazi and many other parts of the region was a result, a direct result, of a heinous and offensive video that was widely disseminated, that the U.S. government had nothing to do with, which we have made clear is reprehensible and disgusting.”
President Obama has been very public since the start of his presidential term that he intended to heal relations with the Middle East that were damaged during the Bush administration.

The Comments are wonderful 99% to 1% against the Obama administration. I was giddy reading some of the comments.
“What sparked the violence was a very hateful video on the Internet,” Rice said on “Fox News Sunday.” “It was a reaction to a video that had nothing to do with the United States.”
Rice said “extremists” arrived with heavy weapons, but “we don’t see any signs this was a pre-meditated, pre-planned attack.”
Obama is impotent, at least as a man. He escapes responsibility through being a member of an aggrieved group. The raging Islamists can see what a weak and inept little fool we have leading Western civilization.
WASHINGTON (AP) - America’s ambassador to the United Nations says there’s “no daylight” between the United States and Israel when it comes to stopping Iran from developing a nuclear weapon. But Susan Rice also says U.S.-Israeli intelligence indicates that the two nations have “considerable time” before that happens.
Rice tells CNN’s “State of the Union” that economic penalties are working.
Rice says President Barack Obama has been clear that it stands with Israel and “will do what it takes” to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon. But, she adds, “we are not at that stage yet.”
In regards to the relationship between Israel and the US, Rice said it is “very strong, stronger than ever.” She said that President Obama has been very clear when it comes to Iran in that the US will do whatever it takes to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, adding, “All options remain on the table … and that includes the military option. This is not a policy of containment.”
A top Libyan official says that the attack on the American Consulate in Benghazi, Libya that killed four Americans including Amb. Chris Stevens was “preplanned” and revenge for the US killing of a top Al Qaeda leader. Rice disagrees, saying that it was a reaction to the protests on the US Embassy in Cairo as a consequence of the video. She added, “Obviously, we’ll wait for the results of the investigation and we don’t want to jump to conclusions before then.”
A protégé of Madeleine K. Albright when Ms. Albright was secretary of state, Ms. Rice catapulted over more veteran officials in 1997 when she was given the job as assistant secretary of state. She also has had experience with Al Qaeda — Ms. Rice was the top diplomat for African issues during the 1998 terrorist bombings of embassies in Tanzania and Kenya.
She is married to Ian Cameron, the Canadian-born executive producer of ABC News’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.”

The impotent Zer0 saw which way the ME wind was blowing, and believed he was being politically clever by hopping on the revolutionary bandwagon in Libya. He and his minions loudly trumpeted the Arab Spring as a great democratic success story, in an effort to claim some of the reflected glory and gain political capital in the US and the ME.
He miscalculated (as lightweights such as himself, who surround themselves with other lightweights, often do).
