Some fancy neighborhoods open gates to Section 8
Sun Sentinal ^ | September 13, 2012 | By Megan O'Matz, Sun Sentinel

Here's an odd side effect of South Florida's foreclosure crisis: Some immense homes with pools and three-car garages in gated communities are being rented out to unlikely tenants — poor people paying with Section 8 aid.

Among the properties are homes with up to 4,500 square feet of space in private communities with guardhouses and regal names such as "Monarch Lakes" and "Bellagio at Vizcaya."

You bet. I have heard the section eight dwellers beef about paying an 11 dollar electric bill.

That’s one tenth of mine and to think I am helping to pay theirs as well.

And don’t get me started on what they are doing with that EBT card...

This is integration with a vengeance. There is a really mean, nasty leftist spirit behind this. It has to stop—it’s our money not the lay-abouts’.

How much does Washington spend on Section 8 housing every year?

About 15 years ago a friend of mine began to get phone calls from some housing agency wanting to know if they wanted to sell their house. They got so many calls they decided to look into it a little more closely. They found that a number of their neighbors were also getting calls. Most of these people were retired. A little more checking and they found that the agency was very interested in turning this nice neighborhood into section 8 friendly status. It sounded like some Acorn monkey business.

Ironically the gates that keep the thugs out, will now keep the thugs IN the neighborhood.

Hope the "communities" are full of liberal bleeding hearts.

They'll get to experience the "diversity" that they supposedly crave.

I hope they welcome their section 8 "neighbors" with open arms.

I just checked - there aren’t any in my zip code. No surprise, my kids said a girl in his school drives a Lambourgini. I told him to see if she has a date for homecoming. HA!

Section 8 should be a description of the last step of putting a tent together....(tent and 8 easy steps to building your free home...some assembly required)

an exploded view of Section 1 thru 8 should also be furnished for those that cannot read

“single woman and her nine children...”

"Pretty much sums it up."

How long will it be before she recognizes that the home-owners committee and their codes were developed by old White people and that she has the right to paint her house purple and chautrese striped if she desires....

This is happening all over Phoenix. From the ghettos of Cleveland, Detroit and Chicago.. to homes with backyard pools in Arizona, courtesy the HUD.

The HUD also has all expenses paid relocation programs going where they move entire families, including the litter of welfare babies, from one part of the country to another where foreclosures are high. Arizona is one of those. We are seeing a high rate of the welfare demographic moving to the state.

Often you won't know if there are. In many cases the property owners will not advertise them as such (eg on Craigslist) but will gladly rent them out to section-8ers since they are a reliable and timely source of rent. One way to tell is to visually look at the house. If it looks like it doesn't fit in with the rest of the neighborhood, and there's no mistake about it, it's likely section8.

I always wondered about the house on my corner. It's a "nice" neighborhood, yet the house has 2 abandoned cars sinking into the ground in the backyard.

What is it with white trash and not getting rid of POS vehicles? Just call the junkman and you get $150 for scrap.

Really pisses me off. The rest of the folks around here take care of their yards, etc. Same family leaves the kid's bikes all over the street, and NEVER mows the yard.
