Today I went out into the field here in Chicago looking to talk to some of the striking teachers but no one in a red-shirt was anywhere to be found (or, if they were wearing one, they had nothing to do with the teachers union strike). A journalist friend of mine asked me to nose around and see if I could uncover anything about slain Ambassador Chris Stevens, who was rumored to be gay. A former roommate of Stevens by the name of Austin Tichenor lives and works in Chicago and while making calls to friends of mine in the theater world who know him I also thought to check some sources with the city who deal with the State Department and foreign dignitaries when they are in town.
Of course, theyve all been talking about Ambassador Stevens murder by Muslims in Libya: and all of them are incredulous that the State Department sent a gay man to be ambassador to a Muslim country. News reports continue to indicate that the Muslims who murdered Stevens also raped him repeatedly, before and after his death.

Hey, if both Barry and this guy were in Chicago...?
Chicago has Consulates from all over the world. Not Embassies. Consulates. Those are trade representatives that are one step below the rank of Ambassadors.
In the 1950s, my husband lived at the home of the British Consul General posted in Chicago when he was a Freshman at Northwestern U. The British Consul General and his family were family friends of my husband’s family, and they offered my husband a “free” place to live while in school in exchange for work around their home and at the Consulate. My husband served as bartender at consulate parties and has many hilarious tales about the experience.
All was well until NU found out where he was living, and they yanked him back into the dorms. Pleas from the Consul General’s wife, “But we think of him as our son...” did not overcome NU’s strict rule at the time that no undergrad should live off campus unless, with a blood relative.
But the stories of shoveling the various diplomats into taxis and limos because they were too drunk to walk have regaled this family for more than 50 years.
Hmmmm...the plot thickens...
In fact, one obituary stated he was "a bachelor who like to drink a glass of beer".
Leni
You don’t put a person wearing steaks into the lions den.
He spent half his life in muslim countries.
What is the point of this article?
Obammy is married with two kids and is gay. Hillary is married with one kid and is gay... It’s the story of the Demonrat party.
"What happened on 9/11/12 is about this country being ruled by an incompetent administration that hates this country and sides with its enemies. Focusing on this issue is a dangerous distraction.

Stevens worked for Hillary and Obama, so there is no reason to think that he wouldn’t be gay. He was certainly no more gay than the Muslim fags who raped him repeatedly. They are the worst example of homosexuals, men who use sex for brutality.

My husband went to a few parties hosted by a British High Commissioner. It was pretty much de rigeur to pass out drunk on the lawn.
No kidding he was gay. Really. No kidding. Wasn’t shocked at all. I pretty much guessed he was. With Barry in office I would not be surprised a significant percentage of Ambassadors posted are gay. Including a lot of embassy staffers.
You aren’t Sarah and I didn’t write the article, I simply posted it for discussion, which we have had. I thought that was the point of FR.
I think they’re bisexual since they both have kids. But who cares as long as they are gone in January.
It is extremely relevant.
I’m tired of the double standard.
Those who reject God, insist homosexuality is good and moral.
If he was homosexual that might well explain the attack.
Those who insist homosexuality must be acceptable, sure seem to scurry into the shadows whenever events bear out that others who aren’t Christian kill homosexuals from a legalistic perspective judging unrighteousness and demanding a worldly judgment.
The homosexual community is anything but Christian. So why aren’t they adamantly defending one of their own?
One plausible explanation is that is simply a war upon those who are Christian, no matter what the cost.
When reality steps in and others who seek to judge by murdering those whom they perceive as unrighteous, homosexuality already knows it isn’t righteous, but is at risk for being judged by righteous and unrighteous alike.
Yes, I’m seeing that I’m wrong on that—I must have been listening to the obit of one of the other murdered on that day.
Do you have no decency? The man was murdered. What do you hope to gain by smearing him?
“Why this idiotic thread hasnt been taken down is beyond me. Moderators asleep at the wheel maybe. Then again, they probably approve, which is just another reason FR is becoming less and less relevant to rational thinking people.”
Having lived in multiple foreign countries, rational, thinking people don’t try to go into a foreign country and expect them to respect what’s tolerated in America. This is a pertinent subject for discussion because it highlights either the arrogance, ignorance or willful provocation of our government. I’ve considered myself fairly feminist as far as women’s rights, but we shouldn’t have a woman ambassador in Egypt, either.
