As anyone whos read my abstinence column here at Fox News Opinion could guess, my wedding is something that Ive looked forward to for quite some time. After having tied the knot at the end of August, I can now say beyond all shadow of a doubt, that it was everything Id hoped and prayed that it would be since childhood. (Id also prayed to be bitten by a radioactive spider and develop sticky hands, but I was an idiot.)
Let me preface this column by saying this: my wife (I have to get used to saying that) and I not only waited sexually in every way (no, we didnt pull the Bill Clinton and technically avoid sex sex,) but we didnt shack up as live-ins and most importantly, we courted each other in a way that was consistent with our publicly professed values.
We did it right.
Feeling judged? I couldnt care less. You know why? Because my wife and I were judged all throughout our relationship. People laughed, scoffed and poked fun at the young, celibate, naive Christian couple.

Speak for yourself.
Oh, you are.
That is a very disgusting comment and I don’t believe a word of it. You should ask the mods to pull it.

Used to be SOP, not a rarity to be joked about and scorned.
As were mine, but I do regret them, and all they represent to me were my weakness and immaturity.
Oh, it’s Steven Crowder! What a handsome couple! Thanks for the ping, STAR!
Hi, Laz. :)
Not for everyone though
I was a virgin when I got married (the first time). Needless to say, we fell from the garden of eden. But our first year together was like this fellow conveys. Liberals lie about it being awful and akward. It had an element or a spark of blessedness.
I would recommend virginity to young people. It’s better than all the sluthood and porn in the world put together. In liberalism sex, there is a missing element of human nature or natural law you can not discover otherwise.
I wonder if the fields you sowed have any regrets....
Anyone, by the way, who tells a 15 year old, or anyone else, that it’s okay to have an abortion is not thinking even like a sensible 12 year old.
That’s a problem, and it is prevalant.
Adults are lying to these girls when they should be honest with themselves and everyone else.
Plenty of seedy stuff came from Catholic schools, that’s a fact, especially now. That wasn[t coming from the teachings of the Church, but from rebelliousness. I don’t buy that it came from the nuns, and people have been trying to sell that to me for lo these many years. No sale.
Thinking for one’s self is more important than ever.
Women are living out the fantasy of a 17 year old boy and it started in the early ‘70s. They’re still not coming out ahead and history will not be kind to them.
When we come out of this phase, those who participated are going to come out looking at least thoughtless if not destructive and silly.
History won’t be kind to these people who thought mankind had fundamentally changed for no other reason than that they wanted it to and they had a hormonal pill to give to the girls to lull them into it.
The girls are at least terribly misguided. When one just looks at the soaring rates of depression, anti depressant use, mother-child disassociation, dysfunctional marriage, divorce, immaturity and irresponsibility omong male adults, decrease in men in the population, their decreased sex drive (viagra, really?) increased abortion rate, promiscuity, immodest behavior among both sexes, immaturity of parents, just to start, you can say that any thinking 12 year old can tell you that mothers killing their babies in order to have marital relations with some guy who will never care about them would lead to a certain deterioration in the culture and that any 15 year old who obediently follows orders to have the abortion was probably not acting the obedient child when she had sex with someone to whom she was not married.
She is the one who pays for he rest of her life. this culture does these girls no favors pretending it’s oday.
When the facts come out and people talk about it again, like we used to, truthfully, it’s ging to be tremendous.
..............That is a very disgusting comment and I dont believe a word of it.................
You might well be correct.
Unfortunately, I’ve had to live the past 45 years with the disgust!
Please don’t judge the truth.
Very refreshing. Thanks Star!
Probably. But I never kept in touch. Never pretended to be in love with anybody in those days, so any regrets by girls I knew were do to them reading way to much into things
Could tell you stories that might curl your hair. But I have said enough.
Looks more like Algore from the neck up.
The point I was (obviously) making is that profligate sex involves two people, and if pregnancy occurs, three.
All are damaged. Illicit sex is not a light matter.
“hat way, a person has the opportunity to meet and court many others (risk and disease free) and find love.”
Yes, that’s an excellent point that has really gotten lost over the past few decades.
My Japanese wife and I didn’t wait until the wedding night , but we did wait until we were engaged , and she is the only woman I have ever gone “ all the way “ with . Nobody in my family believes me for some reason .
did not break any laws...all the girls were of age...no children (that I know of) that I did not support. as far as a religious illicit....that may be for you, not for me.
By illicit I mean sex outside of marriage.
And I speak from the POV of “been there done that” with a great many regrets.
Old saw says:
“If you can’t be good, be careful”
"Pre-marital" and "promiscuous" are nowhere near the same thing.
