Either we vote them out or they continue doing what they’re doing... really - it’s time to vote them out.

Bull crap. When you have the White House leaning on google and sending feds to investigate this guy, it is a big time first amendment issue.

His use of an alias, if it occurred (remember he is innocent until proven guilty) may be an issue, but if the guy was posting videos of kitty cats romping in the grass, I can be pretty sure the feds wouldn’t be leaning on google or him.

So?

If I fly under the radar I’m likely to get away with parole violations.

If I become big international news, those violations are more likely to come to light.

They shouldn’t be ignored simply because I wouldn’t have been caught had I not done stupid things.

Re: innocent until proven guilty on the alias thing. Quite true. However, it appears he used several aliases with different people while putting the movie together. The court must view him as innocent till proven. I’m under no such obligation.

So the very fact Obamugabe is leaning on the internet company to shut down his speech is a problem and this regime is using his supposed violations of parole or whatever it is to try and intimidate anyone who might speak ill of Islam.

Same way they did with that whack job preacher here in Florida.

I’m not, as they say, approving of their speech—but the chilling aspect is how this regime is using power to gag speech.

If a Republican regime did this with, say, pornographers like Larry Flynt, the media would be abuzz about the suppression of legal speech.

I cheerfully agree that government attempts to prevent the dissemination of information, even informally, are a 1st Amendment issue. Though Google refusing the request indicates we aren’t at crisis point yet.

My response was not to the issue as a whole but rather to whether his arrest of itself constitutes a 1st Amendment concern. Arrest for violation of parole is quite different from arrest for making a movie Obama or Achmed don’t like.
