My chamber has a real tight throat. Real Win .308 works fine. I tried some of the 7.62x51 NATO. The damn thing slam fired when I closed the bolt. Thankfully the muzzle was pointed safely downrange at an indoor range when that nasty surprise occurred. The rest of that box will remain unfired. No big deal.

I haven't tried the NATO stuff in the T/C Encore barrel. It might work fine there. All my toys are out of reach. I'm working in San Diego with a rented room until my contract completes. Not using any of my ammo.

Glad you were unharmed. Fine line- best to stay a little shy. My grandad was a bench rester and had all day to hand load... I have to err on the side of safety, but I do have one of his .308 tackdrivers.
