As anti-American furor raged in the home of the Arab Spring, the top U.S. diplomat on Friday sternly warned countries where the unrest has been most pronounced: Stop the violence and seek justice against those attacking diplomatic missions, or else the United States will.

Many have fumed over what Secretary of State Hillary Clinton described Friday as an "awful Internet video that we had nothing to do with" -- an inflammatory anti-Islam film posted online this summer, and publicized in recent days.
The 14-minute film trailer, which was privately produced in the United States led by a man federal officials identified as Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, mocks the Prophet Mohammed as a womanizer, child molester and ruthless killer.
Protesters, notably, haven't all been violent and they represent a fraction of their respective nations' populations: In Egypt, for example, a few thousand have clashed with security forces outside the U.S. embassy in Cairo, in a nation of more than 80 million people.
Still, confrontations that have occurred have aggravated relations between the U.S. and other nations, and led to a number of deaths...
Clinton said such assaults are misguided, and fly in the face of the better society many in these countries recently fought for when they overthrew authoritarian rulers.

Despite the firm condemnation by U.S. government officials, some in the Muslim world -- especially those raised in regimes in which the government must authorize any film production -- cannot accept that a movie like "Innocence of Muslims" can be produced without being sanctioned by Washington, said Council of Foreign Relations scholar Ed Husain.
"They're projecting ... their experience, their understanding (that) somehow the U.S. government is responsible for the actions of a right-wing fellow," said Husain, a senior fellow at the New York think thank.

. . Or you’re going to do WHAT exactly, Mrs. B.J. Clinton? Throw a hissy fit? Throw an ashtray? Welcome to REALVILLE, Mrs. Clinton.
Or else those countries will be on the receiving end of a very terse letter from Slick Willy’s sometimes main squeeze!
Hell... Earth calling airhead Clinton———> Radical Islamists have ZERO respect for women...
I guarantee they are laughing at you.
Here’s the deal and for the life of me, I don’t know why no one has even mentioned this. These are MUSLIM COUNTRIES who think women should be silent, yet Bush and obama have BOTH appointed women as SOS and sent them to negotiate with muslim men who think they should be in burqas and worse. They are insulted by having to deal with a hillary or a condi and it shows. They smile, and when the door closes behind these ‘powerful women’, they laugh their butts off.
GMTA
What’s she gonna do, shoot spitballs at ‘em?
You tell ‘em Hillary. That will do the trick.
Your name reminds me of a very old joke.
95% of the secretaries in DC are touch typists. The other 5% are huntin’ peckers
I’ve thought of that over and over.
Time somebody said it.
I blame Uncle Gregory for suggesting the name.
“...sound and fury, signifying nothing...”
Hildebeast and Odumbo are too arrogant and stupid to realize the 3d-worlders are laughing at them, as are most of us.
It’s the unvarnished truth if anyone would just remember back to when Rice was given an ‘audience’ with the ruler of sudan and her enterage, andrea mitchell in particular, had the doors shut in their faces. When Condi protested, she was told right to her face that this was HIS country and she should shut the hell up. He dismissed her with the back of his hand and later she had a footstomping hissy fit.
The idea that hillary clinton could ‘demand’ anything from anyone in any of these countries is laughable if it wasn’t so frightening.
entourage.
Dang.
I notice this isn't in quotes. Maybe CNN is trying to give the administration some hints on leadership from a copy of "Leadership for Dummies."
How about this? The American people demand that the United States government protect it’s own embassies around the world.
Why the heck are we even in a position of begging other countries to protect our embassies? The countries should be told that they should keep their people away from our embassies for their people’s “own protection”.
I think that was intentional ...I don’t think Condi really wanted Andrea Mitchell there since Andrea Mitchell was one of those in on the “Plame name leak case” effort to destroy Cheney that misfired and got Scooter Libby instead.
ummmm....no.
Andrea Mitchell was also involved in the documents scam in Joe Wilson yellowcake uranium case.
Andrea Mitchell was also involved in Dan Rather's National Guard forgeries. No one was sorry to see her get locked out of any place, in fact, it would have been convenient.
And she may find herself getting blocked outof things in the future as she's the talking head the libs used to put out the Bain capital scare- she faked a tape of Romney to completely change the meaning. John Sununu called her on it and laughed her down.
Not disagreeing with you on any of that. What I was disagreeing about is that it wasn’t simply mitchell who was involved in the sudan thing. It WAS mitchell condi made the biggest fuss over though.
OMG!
