Hillary Celebrates End of Ramadan at State Department with Libyan Ambassador By Penny Starr September 14, 2012
(CNSNews.com) At an event officials say was planned before the attacks in Libya that killed four Americans on Sept. 11, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Libyan Ambassador to the U.S., Ali Aujali, celebrated the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan at the State Department on Thursday.
The Eid ul-Fitr reception was held almost a month after the official end of the month on Aug. 19, delayed, officials say, because of Clintons travel schedule.
The date [of the reception] was set purely because of scheduling considerations, especially given lengthy travel abroad recently, a State Department spokesman told CNSNews.com via email.
The spokesman provided a copy of the Secretarys schedule, showing that Thursdays event was scheduled about 24 hours ahead of the attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi that resulted in the death of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.
Although I am many weeks overdue in saying it: Eid Mubarak, Clinton said. No matter how belated we are honoring Eid and the end of Ramadan, this is a cherished tradition here at the State Department.
Clinton acknowledged the deaths, saying, Tonight, our gathering is more somber than any of us would like. This comes during sad and difficult days for the State Department family.

I’m with you, Sub-Driver. This is unbelievable. Just wrong, just plain wrong.
Great post, AiI. These are troubling times. Godspeed, as you are living in a dangerous part of the world, FRiend.
We give them billions of dollars... while people here are unemployed. Billions -while our country is broke.
That’s it.
How many times does Ramadamadingdong come around in a year? Seems like there’s been about 8 of them in the last 2 years.
There are no words.
Islam is NOT a Religion. It is an evil political ideology that needs to be violently placed upon the ash-heap of history along with Facism and Communism.
It seems like Ramadan is a job with only a day off here or there. No wonder many muslims are pissed at the world 24x7.
It just feels as though Ramadan is often being either entered or left behind.
And all the rest of the time they are IN Ramadan.
What a frikking mess.
I will be honest with you. These people are scaring the crap out of me.
If it isn’t their foot on your neck with the nanny state and taxes, it is the frightening incompetence they display in nearly every endeavor.
This picture just crystallized this for me. She looks insane there (Though I have no idea when it was taken, it sure looks recent...do you happen to know when it WAS taken?}
Your post nearly made me choke on a cough drop. You oughta warn someone before you click the "Post" button or something.
More likely it was dog.
See my post at #109...we have that same feeling.
It is from her trip to Cartagena this Spring.
When I posted it, I made a note of it so I could re-Google if necessary: I just *knew* somebody was likely to ask.
(I think she had just got off of a plane where she had been drinking; and possibly the wind tousled her hair as she walked away from the plane. She *does* kind of give the impression of being three-sheets-to-the-wind, doesn't she? Or -- though I hesitate to bring it up -- there is always the possibility that she ran across some fresh batteries (*shudder*). )
Cheers!
There is a difference between tolerating a foreign belief and celebrating it.
I agree. It’s a death cult.
This is the outcome of United Methodist Youth Fellowship.
Two days after the 9/11 attack. The facts aren’t all in, but.. LET’S PARTY!!!!! What a disgrace. Par for the course for this insurgent government.
