For months, Ramsey County Elections Manager Joe Mansky has been predicting the costs and complications of the state voter ID amendment if it passes in November. Mansky has made public appearances at civic events and spoke at a state House news conference, where he's cautioned voters that Ramsey County will foot a heavy price to correct a problem that he says does not exist: widespread voter fraud. Now, some St. Paul Republicans are sending him a message of their own: Please be quiet and resign. In a public statement Thursday, Sept. 13, Greg Copeland, chairman of the St. Paul Republican City Committee, called for Mansky, a former top state elections manager, to step down from the position he's held for a decade. Copeland emailed his concerns about possible "ethics violations" to members of the Ramsey County Board and dozens of GOP activists. "He's compromised his standing as a professional and as an elections manager with regard to taking a position on this issue of voter ID," Copeland said Friday. He noted that the county's written Code of Ethics calls for employees to "avoid any interest or activity which is in conflict with or inconsistent with the performance of official duties."

Gee how much extra does it cost in Minnesota to require that people applying for a fishing license show a photo ID? Ditto for a boat license, hunting license, to cash a check, get on an airplane or buy alcohol and cigarettes. You even need a photo ID to apply for welfare benefits in Minnesota. This opposition to a photo ID to vote is pure BS.
Minneapolis/ St Paul elections are every bit as corrupt as Chicago they just have never gotten the PR attention.
Mansky is Mark Ritchie’s ‘mini-me’.
So Minnesota is disenfranchising poor people from hunting or fishing by requiring photo ID. Obviously they don’t care if those people starve...so much for liberal compassion. /sarc

So “voter fraud” is a problem so small it does not exist?
Doesn’t have to be very big at all in an election that is fairly close to begin with. But just because you don’t have rats or cockroaches running across the floor in daylight, doesn’t mean they aren’t there.
The photo ID requirement is just assurance that the bait has been put out and the traps are set. If in the face of this, the fraud still is attempted, then there is clearly an actionable violation.
So many violations go on now that are NOT actionable, nobody can determine if the fraud is widespread or not.
Could somebody just find 100 to testify.....I'm sure a background check would show FRAUD on 99 of them....you can't LEGALLY function in this country without a VALID ID!!!!!!!!!
