NEW YORK--Mitt Romney denounced an anti-Muslim film that is stirring unrest in the Middle East, even as he stood by his condemnation of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo for its implied denunciation of the film.
Speaking to George Stephanopoulous of ABC's Good Morning America, Romney said he still believed it was "inappropriate" for the embassy to put out the statement, issued as anger rose in Egypt on Sept. 11 over a film that ridiculed the Muslim prophet Muhammad. He said the embassy should have taken it down after protesters breached the embassy grounds. The same day, attackers in Libya stormed a U.S. consulate and killed four foreign service officers, including the ambassador, Christopher Stevens.

Romney is showing will do if elected, bow down at times. Obama bows down often and we now see what happens.....JMHO.
There is no need for Obama to make the the return of Chris Stephens body a campaign event.
I think the reason Romney doesn’t like mocking of Mohammed is because the founder of his own religion was a fraud also.
Newt's instinctive, reflexive response isn't to flinchingly placate the far left, whenever confronted.
Jones is an ass and a publicity whore like Micheal Moore which he has a fundamental right to be. Moore at least made money (oh my capitalism!) on his films, which by that action adds hypocrite to Moore's attributes!
Bye, Mitt, nice knowing you.
Amen!!
Stupid politics. We need to understand that he has to do this for the RINO’s, er, I mean himself.<BR
Not, unexpected of Mittens.
Can we please one of these elections get a candidate who doesn’t suck?
Why have live coverage if he does attend this?
Was that Romney making such a remark or was it a redo of McCain. The Repubs must have a record they bring out every 4 years.
Clearly it is to make it a campaign event.
Unlikely.
In the U.S. Presidential Election of 2012, it sad that nothing is off limits.
I thought it was a good response. Just because something is “a right” does not mean that doing it is always “right”. In San Francisco, gays can wave their penises from parade floats as it is their “right”; but doing so just isn’t right.
Public exposure is against the Law....this is free speech we're talking here.
But, asked about the film itself, Romney said he hadnt seen and had no intention of doing so. Still, he seemed to agree with much of the substance of the embassys statement.
“And the idea of using something that some people consider sacred and then parading that out a negative way is simply inappropriate and wrong,” he said. “And I wish people wouldnt do it. Of course, we have a First Amendment. And under the First Amendment, people are allowed to do what they feel they want to do. They have the right to do that, but its not right to do things that are of the nature of what was done by, apparently this film.”
Romney said of Jones: “I think him making it, promoting it, showing it, is disrespectful to people of other faiths. I dont think that should happen. I think people should have the common courtesy and judgment the good judgment not to be not to offend other peoples faiths. Its a very bad thing, I think, this guys doing.”
Mitt, the ONLY people promoting to stupid movie are Obama, Hillary and now YOU!
What you said about the d-—a—. Thought Romney was smarter than this.
If the muzzies don’t like it, they don’t need to watch it. Isn’t that what Christians are told all the time?
