FReeper xrmusn was kind enough to inform me of these facts, but also mentioned that the IRS requirement came about in the Tax Reform Act of 1986, so that wouldn’t have had an impact on Obama in his early years.
I continue to believe that Obama didn’t have an SSN until he tried to get his first job at Baskin Robbins circa 1976.
