The Venice Film Festival awarded a special jury prize Saturday to Paradise: Faith. The film is part of a trilogy; Strand Releasing has acquired the U.S. rights and plans to release it early next year. Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments as follows:
One of the hallmarks of cultural charlatans is the propensity to insult Christians, especially Catholics, and then declare their offense creative. If anyone wants to know why a special jury prize was given to Paradise: Faith, let me spare you the need to read about it: it won because it shows a devout Catholic woman masturbating with a crucifix.

Let's just hope he does this in time to avoid Catholics tearing down the walls at HHS.
Let’s Riot!
Well yeah, but just think of the foreign distribution
returns.
Italians must be so proud.
The Muslims have shown that to get people to not trash your religion is through violence. These film festival organizers would NEVER show a film with a Muslim woman masturbating with a Koran.
Is that like a devout Muslim eating bacon?
Muslim women can’t do that. The Koran would get lost.
Ouch!
I thought this was already done in the movie ‘The Exorcist.”
If the Vatican hires a few guys to take out the film makers the left cant say anything.
Not anymore.
Not ever again.
There is nothing new under the sun.
That has to be literally one of the most disgusting, revolting, vile, crude, crass, immoral things I've ever heard in my life.
The libs will be behind this one. It's "art" of course. "Art" should be "daring", "bold", "edgy", and "provacative". Yeah, making fun of Christianity, the Catholic Church in particular, is really those things. *Rolling Eyes* It's the same schtick done many times by Hollyweird and singers. Christianity is the "in" thing to mock. It's widely accepted among the liberal community, so there is nothing outside the box about deriding it.
If they want to step outside the box, they could attack Islam, but they wouldn't dare. Not only do they have more respect for Islam, but they literally know their lives would be threatened. Look what is going on now with the riots "The Innocence of Muslims" has created. I caught a clip of it on Youtube that I found semi-pornographic, so I'm not defending that film. I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy. In fact, many libs, the same libs that will invariably support this film, are decrying "The Innocence of Muslims."
The bottom line is, they know the Christians will peacefully take it, so they pick on the Christians. They pick on the Christians because they feel mockery and derision helps bring Christianity down, and they want to destroy the Judeo-Christian values the U.S. was built on.
It’ll be their fault when I go on my rampage.
Ping to this article about an unfortunate film!
This is the kind of art that the American left celebrates. The American left owns the democratic party.
Why do so many Catholics vote for democrats?
Let’s get it on and trash neighborhoods.
Boo Hoo...
Stoopit movie that no one will see.
Well, well, well. I wonder what would happen if some enterprising young, anonymous filmmaker were to remake this film and substitute a different religion. The filmmaker could adopt the pseudonym Ulrich Seidl, no relation to this current director, of course. Would the actual Ulrich Seidl support this anonymous filmmaker’s creative freedom?
Notice how the MSM has trumpeted the hypocrisy of this administrations reaction to this attack on Catholicism?
As Obama says we don’t like it when people denigrate a great religion.
Piss Christ is a 1987 photograph by the American artist and photographer Andres Serrano. It depicts a small plastic crucifix submerged in a glass of the artist’s urine.
The piece was a winner of the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art’s “Awards in the Visual Arts” competition,[1] which was sponsored in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, a United States Government agency that offers support and funding for artistic projects.
