Good points. I personally wouldn’t object to anyone breast feeding in front of me since I did, however we live in a culture (sadly) where many are uncomfortable with it. I say sadly because I think that’s one of the main reasons so many babies in the US are not breast fed and miss out on a far superior food source. But, being what it is, women who are not sensitive and do it discreetly as you suggest do not help the cause.
The woman in the article has discovered one of the big drawbacks of being a single mother. I am curious how she manages to breastfeed and work full time. If she is pumping for when she’s at work why didn’t she give the baby a bottle?

I think she did it purposefully, because yes, if she was working full time, she’d either be pumping or feeding formula. I know that from personal experience. Aside from that, as an RN, this kid shouldn’t have been out exposing an entire lecture hall to who knows what, and she put the infant’s health at further risk. When I worked in a children’s hospital, no one in our unit wanted to float to the general pediatric floor because we’d always end up sick afterwards.
