Halal is not a hard and fast rule with Muslims. They will eat just about anywhere and anything except for pork products.(this is funny because one of the ingredients in blood pressure medicine is pork and they use a lot of it) They do prepare their own food according to their religion when they cook it.

Even if they eat pork by mistake (which is easy to do here in the US) as long as they don't do it willingly they get a pass.

Only the real anal ones will only eat halal. It's almost the same as the Jewish kosher. In practice its all about letting the blood drain.
