In a strange political cycle, this is good news. It is clear Akin messed up. Let’s forgive him and support him. He’s way better than the alternative.
To: Senator_Blutarski
You go to war with the army you have, not the army you want, and Akin is the army we have, and now he has to win.

NRSC REVERSES BAN ON AKINCINOs routinely insist, in displays of foot-stamping pique, that conservatives have "a responsibility to support any/all Republican candidate(s), once they've won their respective nomination." Their mulish insistence, up until now, on NOT doing likewise (re: Akin) was a particularly poisonous display of GOP-e brand hypocrisy in action.
Glad to see them (finally) butching up and deciding to act like grownups, just this once.

All they have to do is air ads of the Dems booing God to fend off Akin’s soundbites.

The most obvious thing to take away from this is that it’s so easy for conservatives to fall into the trap of political correctness.
Akin didn’t really say anything that should have caused a media storm.
Next time the left tries to intimidate supporters of a good conservative candidate, the GOP leadership should immediately denounce it, stand behind the candidate and open up funding for him full force.

Exactly. One dumb-assed statement does not erase six years of dumb-assed rubber stamping of the Reid and Obama agendas.

Well shut my mouth. I thought I had the NRSC bought off. You darn FReepers had to go and spoil it for me. Why am I biting down on this pencil? Because I didn't get my way. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

I still think he is selfish and rather stupid, but it’s pretty clear the GOP smells blood in the water and sees a shot at not only getting the Senate but possibly, just possibly, crawling up to 60. I know, that would take a couple of miracles in FL, ME, and probably MD.

when you have a wounded soldier, you pick him up, bandage him, get him back up on his feet so he can fight again.
we do not shoot our wounded. if gaffes excludes you, why is biden still vp?
or obozo for that matter. 57 states? three letter words that are actually four?
give me a break. we should support akin and get rid of that wench.

I am not seeing anything official from the NRSC - or at other news outlets.
So far we look fine in NE, MT, ND, WI. CT, VA, FL, OH all in play. We will lose a seat in ME. MI and NM both longshots.

We don’t have a senate seat to lose in Michigan and Hoekstra is up a point or two over Stabenow last I saw.
